Hello all.

I've had an issue with my PC for along time now, (6 months + ), whenever I run a 3D application the PC will BSOD, the monitor will loose signal and the PC will restart, then when I get back into windows it gives me an error report. The error report is as follows:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 116
BCP1: FFFFFA80054174E0
BCP2: FFFFF8801064F23C
BCP3: FFFFFFFFC000009A
BCP4: 0000000000000004
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

This has happened once or twice whilst just browing the internet, but always happens when playing a game or running a benchmark.

The things I've tried:

New Power supply (had a Corsair HX850, now have a NZXT Hale90 1000W)
New motherboard (Tried a gigabyte X58 UD5 and EVGA SLI 3)
New RAM (OCZ 3 x 1GB, now have Corsair Dominator 3 x 2GB 1600)
New HDD( Had 500GB sammy spinpoint, now have 1TB sammy and 80GB SSD)
Tried 4 different nVidia drivers
BIOS update to the latest for both motherboards
2 x different monitors and a TV
3 x monitor cables (a Dual link DVI, normal DVI and a HDMI)
countless fresh installs of Windows 7 home premium 64Bit
Checked all cables are connected properly

This happened with a pair of HD5850's I had before... my system is as follows:

Corsair Dominator 6GB 1600Mhz 8-8-8-24 1T
Corsair Obsidian 800D
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 F13j BIOS
Core i7 920 2.66Ghz D0 @ Stock.
GTX 570 Beast Ed (Factory OC)
GTX 570 Beast Ed (Factory OC)
Sammy Spinpoint 1TB
OCZ Vertex 2 80GB
LG Blu-Ray player
Lamptron FC6
8 x Fans (12V)
18W DDC 355 Pump
10W DDC 350 Pump
Custom Water for CPU

I've tested both cards in a friends PC, but only for 10 minutes each as he wanted his PC back :( I've managed to use my PC for 5 days straight without an issue before and other times my monitor has lost signal even before getting into windows, and once whilst installing windows.

The only thing I haven't replaced is the CPU, however this is running at stock speed and I've even ran Prime95 at stock for 9 hours just to make sure its stable.

Also tried setting the Fan speed to max on the cards but doesn't seem to make any difference in terms of how long it lasts before the PC restarts.

If it happens before entering windows then I'm pretty sure its not a software issue, and I've replaced almost all my components in my PC so I'm really stuck.. Any help is MUCH appreciated, may have to sort out a prize for whoever solves it.

Thanks for reading.

Have you Googled the error.

Something is not stable. Set the volts of you ram and all other volts as well.

Run prime 95 try all the tests and run memory test. Google them if you dont have them there free.

What temps are you getting

Power supply looks the likely culprit.
Ram timings and voltage set correctly ? what does cpu-z state ? it's not always right mine says 5-4-4-15 but I have to run it 5-5-5-18.

Yeah I've googled the error, but not really found anything thats relivent, seems to be a fairly generic error....
Got my RAM running at 1066Mhz at 8-8-8-24 1T 1.65V so its underclocked and at the correct voltage and timings... got the same issue with my other set of RAM.

Also I've ran Prime95 Blend for 9 Hours, CPU got to just under 50C (watercooled) with Auto voltage of 1.25V which is a very high amount for 2.66Ghz.
GPU's get to about 85C on Auto fan speed and about 55-60C with 85% fan speed.

All other temps are fine (HDD, Mobo ETC....)

Could be mate I've had 2x corsair power supplies go on me and cant provide the load required.
Seems odd that it only bsods when more power is required ?

Not a clue then

psu is fine.

As said what does it say when it blue screens. I dont know what all that means but it can be Google or someone will tell you what it means. Its all the numbers and letter before it resets write it down

Untick restart could be the memory too it's not uncommon at all for faulty memory.

dare i suggest a reinstall but don't use any of the software that you have used before, so download fresh set of drivers, fresh demo's etc, even use a different disc of win 7 if you can get hold of one.
i only suggest this as Ive had miscellaneous issues before that turned out to be the software i was using rather than the hardware.

With the latest install of W7 I downloaded the drivers (Instead of coping them from a usb stick) and used Unigene Heaven 2.5 (with previous installs I had used 2.1) although the issue occurs in anything 3D for example codbo, nfshp, Avp, metro 2033, crysis 2 demo...ETC..

The only other OS CD I have is the 32bit CD for W7.. may try that if nothing else works.

'Fed up now...'

If I'd have had this problem for as long as you've had mine would have gone out the window by now. You must have the patience of a Saint dude.

Only thing I can offer is I had a TDR problem on my last machine and I got rid of it by replacing the gpu card. Running everything at stock, new psu, new memory, new board. Same as you. Game would crash, sound would loop, machine would restart.
