Fed up now...

iB CoMpL3XiTy.

Try installing from a different optical drive. I have had strange problems with Win 7 installs from certain drives.

Also try another VGA cable.

I've installed W7 from a LG DVD ROM Drive and also a Blu-Ray drive, same issue still orrurs, Also as previously mentioned I've tried a Dual link DVI cable, Normal DVI cable and also a HDMI cable.

I've considered an SB setup but it would cost more than just buying a i7 960, the SB option does offer a few hundred more Mhz in terms of max OC, but I personally think SB overclocking is boring, I like playing aroung with settings (although everything is at stock atm expect RAM specs and PCI-E voltage)

I'll buy a core i7 960 and if that doesn't solve the issue I'll loose the will to live.

I'll update on Friday when the CPU has been installed.

This may be a stab in the dark but have you tried a non AMD/ATI gpu? If the monitor is going off then it maybe the off chance that the motherboard doesn't like them? lol

(Not a fanboy, I can't stress this enough)

you should video the bsod on your phone or other video recording equipment then just simply pause the recorded vid at the bsod and put the numbers in google and see what it says

From that video it is not 'no signal to monitor dude', but that the PC has rebooted which is a classic PSU failure. I just bought a beefier power supply when I had this problem though you did say you've done this already???? Is there anybody in Cornwall that can help?

Yeah done that, had a Corsair HX850 and I've now got a NZXT Hale90 1000W, same issue occurs with either PSU... Both PSU's should be more than enough to power my PC.

might sound odd, but i had the same probs as you, same board as well. was my ram!! it passed mem test and everything else i chucked at it to check and all passed as soon as i tryed to play a game or stress the pc it crashed rebooted,

i ended up running a generic 2 gb stick of ram for a few weeks problem went away.
im now running 6 gb of cheap ram :/ and to this day pc is fine.

can u borrow a single stick of ram off a mate!

Is your PC creating a dump file at all, if so it may be worth analyzing this using a debugging tool.

Ignore this post if you have already done that or someone else has suggested it.

If you are not sure what you are doing with the dump file you could always upload it and get someone on here to debug it.

@LaRZ, I've changed my timings to 8-8-8-24 2T and still got the same issue, haven't checked Gigabyte's website for RAM compatibility, I just assumed Corsair Dominator RAM would be compatible.

@JaseUK, In the error report it does say that there's 2 files that could help determine what caused the problem, however it looked like jibberish to me... may upload both of them later if any kind soul could de-bug it for me :)

I had the same kinda problem with that error BCCode: 116 after a BSOD on my 5770 and was 100% convinced it was my gfx card that was borked but it wasn't that. I could also go days with out a problem and then sometimes it would happen with in seconds of doing something on my pc. But then i switched my motherboard to a ati/amd motherboard and not had a problem since. The motherboard that i had the problem with was a nvidia chipset board so im guessing that it didnt like my ati 5770 or something.

edit: bleh just read you tried with opposite cards to :P
