Hi,

Help help, I'm in turmoil. Which should I get xbox or pc version.

My pc is p4 3.4ghz, 1gig ram and agp 850xt which is running @ 1280x1084. Saw something on IGN about stuttering on loading points on the 360 version. Would appreciate your thoughts. Have the 360 limited edition of oblivion on order for 40.99 from game and the normal edition on pc from gameplay for 24.99 (i'd change that to limited edition if I cancelled the 360 version).

Advice and thoughts sought after.

Only pro's I see for the PC version are that loading times will be less noticable, and there is the potential for add-ons and mods to be a lot more easy to get hold of.

If those 2 things really matter to you then I'd say get the PC version, otherwise I think the 360 version wins.

I've gone for the 360 over the pc version, for one reason.... I have a 43 inch hdtv:) My monitor just look too smal now and thats a del 2405.

I think it comes down to whether you'd prefer to play this sat at your PC desk, or chilling on a sofa/bed while playing. For me I much prefer chilling, so I've got the 360 version on pre-order.

Definitely worth getting the 360 version if you have a nice big HDTV to play with ( ). My PC is good enough to run it well but I imagine I'll be playing it late into the night, which makes it ideal for playing directly from bed!

I play my 360 at my desk but the good thing with the 360 is I can tilt my chair back and put my feet up. I can't recline and play a PC game :p

Mmmm....tilty

Edit: So to clarify I'll be getting the 360 version.

Personally I could no way play a game lying in bed :) Sat on my bed, perhaps :p

Still, I have a nice big comfy leather desk chair (that cost me £200) so it'll be put to good use.

If I had an HDTV it might sway me more towards my 360......but I just dont get a console "vibe" from this game...sounds strange i know, but it always been the PC version for me.

I prob wont bother with any player mods either, unless they really are something special.

Cancelled the 360 version. I got a good tv, not hdtv but the problem I have is it's the family tv, if I want to play the wife and kids cant watch tv. Whereas my pc is my own private sanctuary. On a side note whilst I was out in Portsmouth City Centre I noticed that Game already have Oblivion in stock for both the 360 and PC both Collectors and standard editions.

get 360 one now, where it'll run best pound for pound. and if its half as good as it looks ill get it on the PC in the next gen of hardware (for all the heeeuge mod community stuff)

I was going to get this on PC only, but after thinking about it I decided to order the collectors edition on 360 and normal version for PC. I must be mad

I just hope it lives up to my expectations now.

I know I probably shouldn't have (money) but I've ordered the 360 version (non CE) because even though this is not normally my type of game, I feel I might be missing something special.

I've done exactly the same thing. Also done it with Tomb Raider : Legend. Just couldnt decide which version i'd prefer.

Oblivion - PC or 360??

ive just got a X1900XT but i think i will be getting this for the xbox360 to go with my LCD HDTV :)

Interesting article on ign as they playing it now

This is the first time I've actually laid eyes on the game, aside from the previous batches of screenshots and video clips. We ran it on Dan's machine, since mine decided to start my week by crapping out on me. He has a Dell XPS Gen 4 with a GeForce 7800GTX, 3.4GHz P4, 2GB of PC3200 RAM and some SATA hard drives. It runs fast. Oblivion auto-detected the settings at Ultra High, albeit at 1024x768, with no anti-aliasing. Bethesda recently announced that the PC version of ES4 cannot have both HDR and AA, but it looked quite nice with just HDR. Load times are faster on the PC, but the visuals are about equal. The 360 version of Oblivion does both HDR and AA and runs natively at 1280x720.

May help you decide if you want hdr and aa

im being cautious of what i read atm, theres a lot of crap flying about, best wait for it to settle. theres some guy on the elder scrolls forums that reckons its crap, but then the forums are rather quiet today oddly enough lol.

He does raise some points that unnerve me a little however its my own damn fault for sodding going there, thats the last time i do till i have it!

Well this hasn't helped me :D
I have a reasonably high spec pc which can output to my 32" HDTV via DVI as well as an xbox 360 hooked up to the same. Now which should I choose?
