Lying on an internet forum?

Im not just talking about this place but I have seen it on other forums as well and it really confuses me as to why people do it?

Recent one on another car forum shows a guy making threads pretty much every other day with blatant LIES.

Yes last week you pulled 3 women out of your office, yes your dad assembles the aston martin engines at his own factory, yes this week you got a letter through the post from a hot women telling you she fancies you. STOP IT.

EDIT: Scrap that. I read it as living :(
 
because your over a computer screen not many people care about telling lies on it. Kinda heart breaking to find people lying but once a lier is generally always a lier. I hate it myself.
 
I see no gain in lying on the internet, to people you dont REALLY know, and most probably will never meet in person
