an E6850 landed in the post today.

and here it is, 3.6 atm. no messing what so ever :)

Orthos gromacs temps were 55~57 underwater, though thats stright out the box so everythings still fresh (vCore @ 1.35)

going to let it settle abit, more to follow..

My temps are deffinatly higher than i was expecting (was thinking 55~57 @ 4GHz not 3.6).

though when i was running a 6320 @ 2.9 max load was 34~36 (that was at 1.27vCore - yes thats right xD i gave up going for more speed and went for lowest temps lol)

55~57 considering the jump to 3.6 from 2.9 seems proportional to me.
idle is 27~28

its just the CPU in the loop too, should i really be expecting lower? and if so how much?

ive got AS5 in there too

the excitement has worn off allready

after further investigation, seems after pulling the water block off and putting it back, a kink had formed in an out of sight place

however, its sorted now :relief:

looks abit better now :)

Should be able to get much higher than that with some more voltage and some proper watercooling.

4Ghz right here using air.

Sorry what do you mean Azza? :)

Just saying that because its a retail and one of the first batchs out that he shouldnt have a lucky chip really.

They should all clock to 4ghz+ easily.

Ah i see.

What about them graphs if they are realistic the diffrence between 3GHZ and 4GHZ is pretty worthless to be honest?

Yeah it seems that by looking at them. Especially for real world difference.

But Ill wait for some reviews on the subject from Anand and places first.

1.52v temps seem really low... hope they are not being misread also i am having trouble running orthos, most of the time it is running fine and gives no error but just restarts the pc, never happened before with other cpus.

I just updated my P5K bios to the latest which said it fixed reading of G0 temps, so maybe yours are not correct.

Nice chip though :)

I doubt this can do 4ghz stable then, i tried 1.6v through it and was going to work back down but even that was causing restarts in orthos.

As for the temps, i've got the latest f4b bios and can't see any newer, maybe will have to wait for a fix.
Oh and the q6600 will be on MM tonight at around 7pm for anyone interested.
