Just finished installing my shiney new Inno 8800GT but as soon as I installed the drivers I got that flippen sentinel pop-up telling me the card isn't getting enough power. . . . using a brand new Antec Quattro 1000W PSU!!!!

The same PSU has been running a Radeon HD 2900XT fine for three weeks non stop without issue?

I have just been surfing for some info and it appears there is a problem between the rev.1 Quattro PSU's and certain nVidia graphics cards, mainly 8800GTX's but now it looks like that includes the new 8800GT's

Unfortunately there is what amounts to a recently identified communications problem between some units of the power supply and the firmware on NVIDIA's card that causes an error message to be generated. Antec apologizes for any inconvenience, and is working with NVIDIA to isolate the precise cause and identify the solution as quickly as possible.

Please note that this does not affect the 8800 Ultra or any NVIDIA card besides the 8800GTX, and neither is every Quattro affected. We will shortly have revised units that solve the problem for those who have encountered it, and will gladly swap units for those customers. If you have further questions or need help with any Antec product, please contact Antec Customer Support

Yee-Haar! I lost 9632 3Dmarks and all my games run like a 4 year old pc!

Ok I have been up half the night and I think the problem is deffo the Quattro PSU. I installed the card into a spare socket 939 system which has an Antec NeoHE 500W Modular ATX2.0 PSU and its flying!

Go figure!

Considering the Quattro 1000w cost me around £150 I am slightly suprised it can't power a single 8800GT card!

I think its RMA time for the Quattro, and I'm off out to the shops today to pick up one of those Corsair 620W HX Series PSU's. . .

The Corsair 620w is certainly a beastly PSU and whsiper quiet. Couldn't recommend it enough. Very odd about your Quattro though

i had an antec 1000w that was doing the same, mainboard lights would come on but nothin else, finaly got it up and running and then got the not enough power to gfx stuff was a faulty psu in end

The good news is that the new REV 3 of the PSU works so far, with my 8800GTX card. Note the version number on the PSU, if you're concerned if the PSU is gonna play well with your 8800GTX or 8800GT card.
Hmmm so it seems the latest rev of the TPQ series fixes this *bug* with certain nVidia cards!

I can't see that label on my psu at the moment (its still in use inside case) but I will whip it out later when I swap it for a Corsair HX . . .

Why not swap that PSU out then until your new one comes? :p
The other PSU is in a machine built for a client thats due to be installed in the office this week, its had its cables all make neat and clipped away so it seems a real pain to tear it apart.

I've sent an RMA request to the supplier of the TPQ PSU and that will be for a full refund and I expect them to send a courier to come and collect the faulty goods! Silly thing has wasted several hours of my chill-out time

However I am now going out to pick up a Corsair HX 620w PSU so I hope to high heaven that its gonna work?
