Someone came the wrong way down the dual carriage way.
80Mph head on crash.
Broken Femur, multiple broken rips & really bad whiplash. 5 months off work & had to learn to walk again.
My misses had really bad bruising and whiplash so had to give up breast feeding. Plus has suffered psychologically, has trouble driving now.
My little girl, 1 month old at the time was fine, only crying because she was hungry.
The guy coming the wrong way was drunk, had very serious internal injuries & was sentenced to 8 months in prison.

Holy crap! That's insane. So so pleased to hear that you are all 'ok' relatively. sorry to hear of the injuries you and your mrs did suffer though to hear your child was just 'hungry' is amazing news.

Any recollection of what vehicle he was driving?

He was driving a Corsa.
Accident was on Christmas day 2007.
Just thought i'd post these as all the memories were back after my final hospital appointment today.
Apparently i'm fully healed apart from the aches when its cold & the fact I still cant run without it hurting. I have a metal rod in my leg from hip to knee.

Agree with all the above.

Now buy a better car with more crash protection!!! Look at the bend in the roof by your door! I'm surprised you had the chance to learn to walk again!

Glad everyone is ok and as above 8 months is nothing for what could have been 3 deaths! Are you being covered by his insurance?

That's ******** horrible. Incredible you all survived and that car is destroyed.

No disguised swearing!

Every 17 year old at school should be shown pictures like these and what damage drink/idiotic driving causes.

Wow that could easily have been far far worse, looks like fortunatly a lot of the energy was transfered through the frame. You were very lucky.

Looking at the car I am very suprised that there were no fatalities, especially considering the speed!

I hope the idiot who did that is paying you some sort of damages! (....and I normally hate the 'blame and claim' culture!).

Its going through the insurance's still.
They drag their feet every time they can so my solicitor has to keep giving them 14 days to reply to every letter she sends. Then on the 14th day in the afternoon she receives a faxed reply

That looks terrible, glad you all came out of it ok in the end. 8 Months is laughable though, he should be charged under attempted manslaughter or some such, i don't see how speeding down the wrong side of the road whilst drunk is anything other than trying to kill someone.

I agree with lizardking, the car did very well!

From what I remember, it had quite a high rating anyway when new.

To the OP:

Glad to hear the baby was uninjured!

Can't believe the other driver only had 8 months, that's shocking!
