A 256gb samsung pm800 ssd, probably classed as a slower ssd but it was only £220 from a well known auction site so price / size was exactly what I wanted to shove in my new sony vaio e series, very happy with it.

Did not disable startup items or services, but since I only just got the SSD a month ago its still a pretty fresh setup, only 5 basic startup items, NoD32 Antivirus, Bluetooth, Ati CCC, IDT HD Audio and Rapid Storage stuff.

Running an Intel X25-M 80GB ssd......I have no idea why mine is so slow (I do have a long password at login and have to select which OS i'm using at the boot screen so that may add a few seconds. Still seems slow to me)

EDIT: Did it again without a password

This is not a competition as to who has the fastest SSD. It's more of knowing how long it takes your system to boot with all the necessary startup and services running using the SSD as the OS drive. Anything below 60 seconds is more than fast enough.

Personally, while I find single SSD boots faster when compared to a raid setup, I still prefer raiding my SSD as I do a lot of photo and video editing. I just have to live with the fact, that, I need to do HDDerase every 3 or 6 months depending on the degradation as there's no trim/GC/Toolbox that can maintain a raid setup.
