I've been hovering on buying a 470 for the last week or so - this has pretty much made up my mind for me, all I need to do now is decide which one to get!

The gainward "good" edition? Do the letters in good actually have a meaning or was it a case of the marketing dept having a competition to come up with the cheesiest name

It does, but it aint coming to mind at the moment. But it basically means its a Gainward built card from scratch, their own PCB, components and custom cooler. Its actually a very nice card, probably the best out of all the cards here.

Though the best value is the Gigabyte.

470 for £165 is one of the best deals I have seen on OCUK GG.

You don't by any chance have any gtx295's left in stock anywhere? Im pretty sure i seen some on the site the other day but not anymore =/

Prices are getting much more reasonable and i for one hope that this trend continues. Sli 470 looks very tempting.

I bought one of the OCUK value 470's, great card, cooler needs replacing with something quieter though.

can't decide between the gigabyte and the gainward - £10 extra for a custom cooler seems like a bargain, but having the gigabyte factory OC'd would be a bonus... decisions decisions

I thought it was more likely that OC have stocks of 470's they can not shift. 470's got bad press over heat and noise, people bought ATI, then along came the 460 and people bought that whilst the 470's sat on the shelf.

Don't blame OC as a £164 470 against a 460 is enticing.

A pair of 470gtx's have been cheaper than "some" 480gtx's for several weeks already though Thinking the watercooled and the lightning edition.

£165 is silly pricing though, Nvidia are seemingly closer to the 570gtx than rumours would have you believe, lots of talk of a 580gtx launch but no mention of a 570/560gtx but they must be coming very soon.

But my guess would be 570gtx pricing is going to be WAY above current 470gtx pricing, with no more than 15% performance difference the 470gtx are killer cards at current pricing.

£165 for a 470, Christmas has indeed come early.

Nope unfortunately not, were just running a promo on a few GTX 470 lines. When we sell out of this promo stock or by November 15th whichever comes first our pricing goes up.

Its not a price drop, just our own promotion to sell a load of cards in a short period.
