In execution they seem to do a good job, but reviews will make that more clear.

but generally what a great direction for smart phones to go in.
With current gen hardware it will be cool, but imagine in a couple of years going to work and only using your phone to power your desktop and do all your work on.

Im excited!

I'm really not sure how I feel about this, it sounds kind of cool but I don't think I'd ever use that function.

I hope the rest of the phone is just as good

the netbook one is a bit gimmicky, I do like the dock though, if they put some good presentation software on it could be awesome.
The phone on its own seems awesome, definitely on my to purchase list at present.

Looks like the same IPS type they use on current 3.7" (854 x 480) screens. It's still got the most accurate colour calibration of any display :) (but tbh I prefer the 5:3 ratio over 16:9 and 2:3 for phones)

^^^ i agree IPS has the accuracy but on a phone i prefer the vibrancy of OLED

Good video - another plus is the Lithium 1930 mAh power pack

The Dock on it's own will cost $60 - Absolute bargain, so if you choose this over the laptop unit you could charge the phone, plug in a mouse/keyboard and connect it to your TV to have a full HD capable PC in your pocket, literally!

I am undecided on the Atrix or LG Star, more leaning on the Atrix as it would fill so many areas of usage for me it would be amazing!

I'm perfectly fine with an IPS display,at least I know the angles will be excellent and the colour accuracy. Shame there's no AMOLED but accurate screen rendering above all else :p

The ideal solution will be to buy a 24" OLED PC monitor, problem solved in all aspects then as I sit at my desk most of the time anyway so it would make sense to buy the dock and use my phone on the monitor when I am home :D

It all boils down to root access TBH, the OS looks solid and they've finally put some thought into it unlike the current Motoblur versions out. As long as I can get root access to create full backups I will be happy I think!

that is unless Moto have something for this purpose anyway.

Basically Atrix =

Hefty battery
Hefty IPS screen
Hefty design and features
Hefty spec
Hefty connectivity
Hefty performance

What isn't there to like!

I quite agree Khaaan!, it's certainly on my "next phone" shortlist.

Doesn't seem to be a downside (bar motoblur, and as you say, even that is vastly improved).

I think it's great in concept, but I still have issue with Motorola as a manufacturer, so many god damn crappy phones over the years.

When will we find out about upcoming HTC phones?
I really am interested in this or the LG but want to see what HTC will be bringing out

Bumping this as I know a lot of folks here are interested in it, including myself.

After the expected poor LG offering this is looking the top phone to get over the next few months (after we've seen what HTC/Samsung might pop out with first though).

It should be available anywhere around end of Feb/March, Orange the UK supplier, have stated Q2 for release.

It could be destroyed by Motoblur (and Orange) though, still, nothing a ROM cant fix :D
