OCZ SandForce firmware Updates now out :)

im still going to wait a while until i recommend one of these to anyone else, because you never know what this fix might cause to happen. at least the issues have pushed the prices down to crucial M4 money :D

Is there a how-to guide anywhere on updating these? From the posts I imagine you run the linux bootable tools from a usb and boot into it, but what from there? Unless I've missed something?

Well from what I've read, in real world terms there is no performance difference so I think I'll be happy with the Crucial. Should be here soon I hope. :)

This firmware looks very encouraging, i've personally been problem free with 2.09 although OCZ are saying to flash anyway as it includes a whole host of fixes and speed improvements. Also use in combination with 10.6 RST for best results.

What drive is that giving you speeds of 1000MB/s?

Stock clocks
2GB (think i got a dead slot or dead ram)
2 OCZ Agility 3 60GB's RAID 0
128k strip
ASUS SATA 6 cables (weather they make difference duno)

It's just a fresh install of W7, chipset, raid and all the latest 7 x64 pro updates

SSD in RAID? IIRC TRIM does not work in a RAID array does it?

What do you mean by '128k strip'?

Trim is something no ones letting on to about fully but there is background activity, garabge collection.

Z68 does something for SSD in raid 0

when you have raid you have to set a strip size, i've set 128k

Have one running this new firmware, but it was also fine on 2.09, some marginal speed gain, mind.

Have another still on 2.06 that was occasionally freezing, but has been stable for a week so won't touch it with the update yet.

(Both Agility 3's).

Updated to new firmware a couple evenings ago on my vertex 3, so far no BSODs and excellent speed. Looks good so far :)
