OCZ SandForce firmware Updates now out :)

Can someone help me please

I ran the OCZ toolbox v2.39.02 on my 120gb vertex 3 while in my HDD windows 7 and it just stays on 2.06 firmware.

How can I update it to 2.11

Thanks

Well the 2.11 firmware update did nothing for me, if anything the bsods are more frequent now. :( I've ordered a Crucial M4 instead, hopefully will have a bit more luck with it!

I had the same problem. Try running the linux-based updater here: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?89670-Tools-for-OCZ-SandForce-Driven-SSD-s.

Cheers Alex, makes me feel a bit better.

I intend on waiting for the faster drives to be more stable, then purchase one and put my Crucial M4 into my XPS 15z.

I put my new system together today and with my 120GB Agility 3 I started to experience random freezes (firmware 2.06) but since flashed to 2.11 and hasn't frozen again (so far).

I'm considering returning the Agility 3, I have absolutely no faith in it's reliability having spent hours dealing with the freezing. I have an older 120GB Vertex and it works flawlessly.

Reading through OCZ forums, it seems they are blaming everything from the BIOS through to the chipset rather than admitting there's a fault in their SSD line.

With the tool box is what i was refering too, not within windows on the drive (SSD), other drive yes. Personly i would do it externaly so you secure erase the thing as well so all proper fresh

I just did my Vertex 2E OS drive from 1.32 to 1.33 using the toolbox in windows, it shuts down after 15 secs. Then when you start up again it loads up windows then says you must restart to confirm changes. Restarted and it's running fine, if anything if feels a little zippier than before :D

Can't use toolbox to update drive with OS on it. Use linux iso to update firmware & secure erase drive.

Some people are still having problem with 2.11. OCZ forum says to clear CMOS after updating to 2.11. If problems still persist. SE, clear cmos & reinstall windows.

I'm still having problems with 2.11:(

quick question, if you use one of these as your OS drive, where is the best place for the swap file? Traditionally it is recommended to keep it away from your OS drive but not sure how it works with SSD's?

Hi I have an Agility 3 which has the problem where it doesn't come out of hibernate. I have searched the forums and it seems there are two ways to update the firmware (Linux pendrive and Toolbox).

I have my OS on this drive so would it be possible to attach it to another computer and then use the tool box software?

I really do not want to have to reinstall windows and everything else.

Thanks for the reply. Should I install the latest intel RST drivers on my laptop? It doesn't have a SSD attached to it so I assume it isn't installed. I will be connecting the SSD via a SATA/USB converter to the laptop and then updating the firmware that way.

I have read a lot of the instructions but I am just a little worried it will go wrong :p

Download the latest OCZ Toolbox, connect ssd & see if it shows up.
If the SSD is only being attached to laptop temporarily then no to the RST.
If drive not shown in toolbox then you will have to use Linux iso.

Firmware only takes 10 secs to update. You will need a stable internet connection - wired better than wireless esp for Linux.
The main way to brick the drive is to power off during the update. I dount you will do that.
