Not a surprise especially with things like Icefilms for XBMC using it so much, always hate these sites for their misdirecting links aswell

Yes, also apparently megaupload hq is in China. This might not be the end for it, but it will be the end for freedom in America.
It is a Chinese company, it will come back in a few days on new servers I imagine.

I'm not going to miss any of them sites, years ago they were fairly cheap but now they're silly expensive. I didn't renew my rapidshare account this year, just isn't worth it!

megaupload was always quite good. They stuck to their old ways.

I used megaupload a lot. I have never seen a legal megaupload link though (I know they do exist, but the site was mainly piracy related lets face it)

No, i used it on a few occasions. Obviously torrenting is preferable, but for some of the less popular files with no seeds it's a decent enough service.

Don't understand why it's gone actually, it's just a file sharing website. I was under the impression that the laws that would make the site owners responsible for all the content on and linked to on their site hadn't passed yet? It doesn't even look like it was done with due process, they never got the chance to defend themselves.
