Samsung’s fast random read speeds (up to 80,000 IOPS) maximize performance* when it matters most. A Samsung SSD is the ideal solution for your everyday computing needs, such as web browsing, document creation, viewing or editing multimedia files, playing PC games, etc.

Samsung SSDs are designed and build completely in-house. The Samsung SSD 830 Series is optimized for exceptional, sustained performance and unrivaled reliability through its specially- engineered wear-leveling and garbage collection algorithms.

Use the wider image option when adding this feature. We would like to capture all of the data represented on this specific feature image. However, do not use this feature image in this document, use the actual image in images folder. Samsung’s 20-nanometer-class toggle DDR NAND Flash chips enable data transfer rates of up to 133 megabits per second (Mbps)-more than three times faster than conventional (40 Mbps) single-date-rate (SDR) NAND Flash chips.

While most SSD makers rely on generic, dual-core controllers, Samsung has developed its own proprietary, triple-core MCX controllers that excel in multi-tasking and help to assure stead performance over time. Based on an ARM9 controller, its three CPU cores can execute multiple instructions such reading data, writing data and optimization.

Some insane prices on ssd's at the moment, Soon going to be affordable to get rid of my mechanical drive.

Think back a year to what a 240gb sata3 ssd would have cost...

That is a crazy bloody price!! I wasn't looking to buy a new rig until next easter probably in 2013.. Do you reckon prices will be around this by then anyway if not lower!? I've been reading news articles saying the big SSD firms are looking to start big price wars to get the small companies out of the SSD industry..

So what do you say? Now I buy this SSD or wait until 2013 easter for a full new rig!?

I currently have a 1st gen Intel i5-750, 8GB RAM, ATI 6950 2GB, 1TB HD and a 1st gen OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB SSD..

Silly question, but what't the difference between the notebook one and the desktop one? The 256 is incredibly tempting, but the notebook thing has thrown me.
Thanks

Are the OCUK staff 110% sure that the vat get back on certain SSD models has been extended to 06/06/2012 ?

Looking at the samsung claim the vat back site, it just says certain notebooks vat back has been extended.
