Alrite guys I've decided to splash out on a new gaming pc but don't even know where to start so I'm hoping someone can recommend a system for me, I have a £2500 budget which must include the monitor.

Any advice very much appreciated

Cheers
Dean

Hi mate, I mainly want to use it for gaming to play all the top games but would also like to use it to watch movies.

I'm not very clued up on this as I've always been a console gamer so I have no idea where to start.

Don't really know much about overclocking too be honest

Cheers
Dean

Dean, that is a big budget you have there and a lot could be done with it.

The uses you have for it though are quite minimal in regards to the budget. These needs could be achievable for £1500. It will be able to handle all the new games and obviously watch movies, including blu-ray disks.

If you wanted to upgrade it in the future you could add another GTX 670 4GB for around £400.

You don't need £2500 really. The starting point with a big budget would be a 3570K, Z77, and a GTX 670. Then maybe a nice screen?

There are a few guides about building a machine, but if you are unsure, and since you have the budget, you can get pre-built. However, you'll be loosing around £250, and not the best components.

True, something like this: May need a bit of altering.

Are any of the overclockers systems on there website worth buying?

I noticed they have a system configuration option where you can choose the components and they build it for you, would that be a better option for me?

Yes and Yes.

If your going on the configuation this system is a good starting point: Intel Z77 Ivybridge 10100i Configurator - Gaming System

Spend it! Spend it all!

Nobody ever seems to spec speakers... Don't have first hand experience with these but they have good reviews.

Be aware that the case is 'Preorder' but cases are very much a personal choice and you could save money by getting a different one

The last one. It's lacking a SSD though.

Or this bundle. Whichever case you like. The 500R is a good case, the NZXT Phantom is too.

EDIT : Actually, you can add a SSD to the Tyrannosaur MKIII. I recommend the 120GB option. Or if you can ask OcUK, put a Samsung 830 256GB.

Well I've decided on this monitor

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-051-BQ

Just need to decide on a system now

Nice choice! Very good monitor.
As far as the system goes it's really down to you building your own or not. Building your own gets you more for your money and a is a very satisfying process.
Buying prebuilt is good and less to worry about as such but doesn't give you that sense of achievement and understanding of your rig.

Decisions decisions :D

I would love to try and build my own system but i have no experience at this and would be too worried about making a mistake and the system either not working or breaking down! Pre built systems tend to come with a warranty which would give me piece of mind especially when spending such a large chunk of cash on a system.

Maybes some time in the future when I am a bit more educated I could give this a try but for now I think a pre built system is the direction I need to go. :)

Dual GPU support is spotty. Some games support it very well, some don't.

Can also go 3D with that monitor. Halves your framerate, so needs a good GPU (or two).

I'd start with one graphics card, and maybe go 3D later, but you need to see it first in action to decide, because it's an expensive upgrade, and SLI definitely not needed at 1080p resolution.
