If anyone has any suggestions to impove this build while keeping it on the £650 budget (excluding P&P) great!
Im having problems choosing a keyboard right now though, and I am quit used to my laptops keyboard (low keys not big chunky ones).

Once the parts are ordered I will pic the step by step build and hopefully not make a balls up.

Please note this is my third sorta similar thread but im using this for the pics :p

EDIT: Being ordered tomorrow so :) :)

It's very similar to something i spec'd earlier (link to thread)

Just get a cheap £10 keyboard so you can get the ivybridge CPU. You know it's a better CPU and why. Try and blag a keyboard for Xmas as a gift or something ;)

lol @ the lifetime of each key on that product. That would last me about.....judging by the amount i use my pc...about a week.

Pics when built plz :D

That would last me long enough to buy a £100 mechanical keyboard or an expensive gaming one lol.
One problem with my bank account, I forget my password easily :D

Doh! stinky bacon xD i want a mechanical keyboard but i would need a while to save up. Have you ordered your build ?

Im not stinky! I showered this morning thank you :D
I will order it when I remember my home phone! :p (my memory is apalling). So right now I am phoning around to people I know to see if they know my own phone number lol.

The delivery date is the 16th which I am a bit disappointed in seeing as its next day delivery and they dont have to build anything.

ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!
*yanks hair out*

Silly me did not order a DVI cable for the monitor and the only one I have is VGA!

EDIT: Also I take it the retail heatsink comes with thermal paste? :)

What can i say I got hungry :)

I might have, I think I ran out of cables! Like I said Im useless with cables :p

I never told you to do the case like that! :/

Andys thread showed you to run the aux power extension at the back of the mobo not at the front across it.

It'll do for now. You want an aftermarket heatsink at some point. I'd take the mobo out to fit it and reroute the cables then.

Another top tip is to put the DVD drive in the bottom bay. It's closer to the power and sata ports, plus at the top it can be hampered by cables if you use the front USB ports.

Pop the front DVD bay covers off and remove all the metal blanking plates. Once you get a good cooler on the CPU it will be pulling air through the filtered DVD bay covers, removing the metal plates improves airflow ;) I suggested to you already to move the fans around and cutting out the mesh makes a big difference to airflow and does quiet down noise :)

Tomorrow I MAY re-do the cables, I was quite frustrated at the end so I settled for the mans "that'll do" resolve.

Hmmm I never though about that, cheers, I'll change the drive because I will definitely use the USB ports.

To be honest I probarbly will only be overclocking when the CPU feels destined to need it. Since I cant afford anything right now. And the loudest thing by far is the DVD-RW :/

Cheers for the suggestions though.

Pictures look good :)

I have NEVER thought of doing this!! Does it really work? May try it tomorrow on my CoolerMaster Elite 430 :)

I don't know about your case but it must work on the Z9. If light can get through, so can air lol

I have 2 120mm exhaust fans at the top (blue led). The front bay covers are just a mesh with a foam backing stuck on as a dust filter. The blue LEDs will light up the silhouette of the metal blanking plates and it'll just look ugly.

I can look through my drive bays and see the 120mm gelid tranquillos fan quite clearly and there is a nice blue glow which i can dim with the fan controller.

I get dust catching on the side mesh so air is being pulled in through there too even without a fan attached ;) I really do want to cut it out and put a window in but just can never be bothered lol

Wow nice sys bacon? :D although it would be better if you had bacon on that plate. We'll have to call you Melon and Sweetcorn? from now on :o

Hmmmm I will have to investigate :P

How it is on the CM Elite 430 is when you take the front case off, the 3.5inch bays are open and all the 5.25inch ones are shut with solid metal plates you can snap off. And the bits that are clipped to the case have dust filters in them.

I have the top one broken out for my Blu-Ray drive and then I broke out the one below so I could get my SSD adapter on (should have done this first from the inside) and then I screwed that plate back on

Maybe I will take them all off and see, if I don't like the way you would see the light through them then I can screw them back :) Might look cool :p
