It was announced a few weeks ago on BBC Click, Windows 8 upgrade will only be £20. It will be the cheapest windows OS since Windows ME:cool:

Would that be if upgrading from windows 7?

If so that may tempt a few people who perhaps wouldn't upgrade.

Was expecting it to be more than that.

For £20 I will keep my windows 7 installation and dual boot with windows 8 to try it out.

Seriously hope that correct as no way will I pay full price for windows 8 when I use my iPad more than my desktop system now.

You can't dual boot the £20 upgrade to windows 8. As I believe, it will upgrade your current win 7, from its online upgrade files.

Upgrade your current Windows 7 install to Windows 8. Then use your existing Windows 7 disc to dual boot that?

Don't know if that will work and It's a massive hassle but It may be possible :)

Yes and no. The upgrade offer for everyone was $40 which, thankfully doesn't equate to £40 any more. The upgrade for recent purchases was £15 I think.
