Anyone Tried The £14.99 "New PC" Win 8 Pro Offer ?

Ive used my real details (gulp) but a fake pc. Got it downloading for my laptop now and a spare discount code for my desktop should I mysteriously become a convert in the next three months. For the pc I used an ocuk competitor (naughty me) for the retailer and any model should do. I used bitfenix and coolermaster for example

edit: as far as i can tell you have to let the upgrade advisor do its stuff and i *think* it automatically picks 32/64 bit from what you already have installed (this is just from looking around the web)

I'm not one of the forum's self-righteous volunteer software licence enforcers, but really, this is just blatant dishonesty isn't it?

You're saving, what, £10 over the regular (legitimate) upgrade price... are you all really that hard up?

Looks like you really are one of the forum's self-righteous volunteer software license enforcers.

At least its not all out piracy and microsoft are still getting a sale out of it. If it all backfires then at least 15 quid isn't the end of the world...

edit: come to think about it, if MS were really bothered about this, then there would have been some description of verification system in place (ie enter your current product key, provide proof of purchase, or just bundle a physical discount code with any valid pc)

Rather ridiculous really, the cheapest MS OS ever at £24.99 and people still feel the need to cheat the system to get it cheaper.

That said, MS have left it wide open for abuse, so it's not surprising.

The only thing that needs to be said about it is:

"MS have left it wide open for abuse, so it's not surprising."

That's all that applies.

lol
well my brother always boasted hows he's got the best version of windows for free and i pay??? - last time it was win 7 ultimate for him - i paid and got home premium

Dude chill. Did you pay rrp for it?
Relax. 14.99 is a fair price. Ms make enough money.

I thought it had worked for me, however for some reason the key supplied will not activate. No it's not a typo, as I'm cutting and pasting. Here's what I did:

1) Installed Win 7 in Parallels
2) Got the upgrade assistant
3) Bought and downloaded the ISO
4) Created a new VM and installed Win 8 from the ISO
5) Spotted the notification that Windows would not activate
6) Pasted in the correct key again.

No joy! Any ideas what I've done wrong, please?
