It wouldn't since I used google chrome on my iPod touch to get my promo code, and it didn't even complain that I wasn't using a windows operating system to fill in the form.

Glad I did this when I did then! Installed tonight and went smooth off a memory stick. After the initial "OMG TILES WTH" everything seems fine. It feels strange having a start menu as the front end for a desktop, but I imagine come the next version of windows we wont be using/seeing a desktop at all....at least not as we know it.

There isn't as the code is only valid for the download version, and the only way to purchase the download version is through the upgrade advisor.

Update:

Had to reinstall Win 8 and it wouldnt activate. Said key was an Upgrade one and needed original OS on first.

Found a workaround by going into regedit. Worked ok then
