Anyone Tried The £14.99 "New PC" Win 8 Pro Offer ?

I'm not one of the forum's self-righteous volunteer software licence enforcers, but really, this is just blatant dishonesty isn't it?

You're saving, what, £10 over the regular (legitimate) upgrade price... are you all really that hard up?

Rather ridiculous really, the cheapest MS OS ever at £24.99 and people still feel the need to cheat the system to get it cheaper.

That said, MS have left it wide open for abuse, so it's not surprising.

Yes, I really am that hard up.
I enjoy a lavish lifestyle that having a disposable income £1 a day affords.
I'd prefer to blow half a month "wage" on the OS, than nearly a full months worth.

Did you write a similar post to the people who are buying the £25 upgrade, but using it for clean installs, instead of buying the full version ?

Please use this to help you get down from your high horses :D

Kinda callous reasoning, I'm hard up so I can take what I want. Probably best not to brag about it, don't you think?

Just bought myself a copy. The upgrade assistant has started downloading but where does it save the ISO? I don't want it to install just yet and want to burn the ISO to disc first.

When it finishes it asks you if you want to create a usb drive to install or to save it as an iso.
You can then go back and choose the other option later if you wish

Tried the discount site again to see if it still works after least night and I ended up with another free code. It seems like the 'please enter you win 7 key' page only comes up depending on what details you fill in.

How do you go back again as I'd like to create a DVD ISO (have already done the usb) for future installs?

The files download to a hidden folder C:\ESP\Windows. You can create isos/USBs at your leisure from these if the setup program hasn't already deleted them.

Just writing to confirm, my download ended up being a 64bit version, I burnt to disk, booted to disc and formatted the drive to try a clean install. Everything worked fine and windows was activated by the time I got to the desktop. Not bad for 15 quid

One thing I might add though is that it seemed to take its sweet time doing all the configurating and customising tasks post setup. Dunno if anyone has had similar experience

Read what I wrote and you'll figure it out (probably...).

I actually agree that Microsoft have done this intentionally but we weren't talking about Microsoft's intentions.

I figured out that you were talking rubbish.

Evidenced by the fact that you've just said you think MS did it intentionally, but it's "callous" to make use of it.

Are you a crazy person?

I filled in my legit details and it offered me a code - it auto detected my win 7 key. Bought my laptop in April although i did enter a June date in the box.

If they wanna charge me the extra then i'm happy to pay. Seems no different to when stock gets priced wrong in a shop. If they still sell it to me i'm not gonna say no to a bargain.

Its asking for my Windows 7 product key, should I enter my real key or I am too late.

Purchased a key for £ 24.99 yesterday before reading about this loophole

Why are you focusing on only one bit and ignoring the rest? It's a tedious method to try and win arguments, please save it for comments on YouTube.

If you truly think it's not callous to say I can take what I want because I'm hard up then I pity you.
