Now the 'Risk Takers'... and their final pleas
  • (A) DirtyJester - Guinness Black Lager
Black as in a Black King ie. the Chess piece.

  • (B) Ahleckz - Stone Brewing Co. Arrogant ******* Ale
The starred out word is another name for an illegitimate person (or scroll down and check picture)
    As taken directly from email....
    I provide this as evidence:

    Exhibit A:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_the_Conqueror
"William I (Old Norman: Williame I; c. 1028[1] – 9 September 1087), usually known as William the Conqueror and sometimes William the *******,[2][a] was the first Norman King of England, reigning from 1066 until his death in 1087. "

    Exhibit B:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/historic_figures/william_i_king.shtml
"William was born in around 1028, in Falaise, Normandy the illegitimate son of Robert I, Duke of Normandy. He was known as 'William the *******' to his contemporaries."

    Exhibit C:

    http://www.essentialnormanconquest.com/story/william-the-*******.htm

    "William the *******"

    Exhibit D:
    http://www.royal.gov.uk/historyofth...fengland/thenormans/williamitheconqueror.aspx

"Born around 1028, William was the illegitimate son of Duke Robert I of Normandy, and Herleve (also known as Arlette), daughter of a tanner in Falaise. Known as 'William the *******' to his contemporaries, his illegitimacy shaped his career when he was young.

On his father's death in 1035, William was recognised by his family as the heir - an exception to the general rule that illegitimacy barred succession. His great uncle looked after the Duchy during William's minority, and his overlord, King Henry I of France, knighted him at the age of 15."

    Conclusion:

We have 4 websites, one of which being a UK government website and the other being the great institute which is the British Broadcasting Coporation recognising that King William was known as King William the *******. Thus my entry is entirely valid.

  • (C) Seabiscuit - Brains Brewery The Rev. James
    King James?
    ___________________________________
  • (D) Windle - Caesar Augustus
    As taken directly from email....

I present the Caesar Augustus Lager/IPA Hybrid.

As validation for the King part, the Caesar references Ptolemy XV Caesar (King of Egypt from 44 - 30 BC and Augustus relates to Ernest Augustus I (King of Hanover from 1837 to 1851)

    Let the arguments commence!

  • (E) robfosters - Thwaites Lancaster Bomber
    As taken directly from email...

I hope this is acceptable. It is Lancaster after the house of Lancaster. The Kings which included Henry IV were known as Henry IV of Lancaster.

  • (F) Repta - Robinson's Old Tom
    As taken directly from email...

Bit of a long shot but couldnt find anything else in the end. King Tom was a sirrea leone ruler in the 1800's

Anyone who has received points for this weeks entry now has a say on the 'Risk Takers' receiving theirs... If you feel they have entered a valid beer then vote according with a Thumbs Up or Yes, if you feel it's wrong and not should not be allowed then a Thumbs Down or No....

The majority vote will win in each case as discussed earlier today in the main BOTW thread...

Ok so like a thumbs up or down kind of thing.... we now have 5 on the list of doom :D

So say 15 people are voting, and you receive 8 thumbs up you get the points and anything less, thumbs down and the chop!

EDIT: I'll list them (the people on the list) from A - whatever letter we finish with on the list and each valid entry can post a message with each letter and yes or no?

IMO, any entry that doesn't have 'King' in it is straying from the spirit of the competition.

I have tried to keep true to the original rounds as they were laid out and by doing so drop points regularly.

I asked MrsSeabiscuit not to vote on mine at all so there can't be any concerns of "fixing" for either of us.
I know I'm not allowed to vote on this, but I think all the "risky" entries all have valid links to Kings. But then I suppose I would say that.

Right, well I'm off to clean a barrel to syphon a Timothy Taylor Landlord clone brew into. I'm either celebrating with it, or drowning my sorrows. I'll find out which after I've had a pint (or two).
