OcUK Beers of the World Mk2 Weekly Results - Round K & Voting for 'M'

I can't get my head around how a lancaster bomber falls under "king"??

Sorry this is my first time participating in one of these threads.

Go to page one, scroll down and read his reasoning... simples :)

Oooh ok...

'I hope this is acceptable. It is Lancaster after the house of Lancaster. The Kings which included Henry IV were known as Henry IV of Lancaster.'

If it had been left at King, no issues, King in the title.
Human was changed to a word with a body part as part of the name, and IMO there were some real dubious ones in there.

Just think it should have been left as it was at the start of the comp. of course there are difficult rounds, that's the game.

Man, I'm vocal tonight, not like me at all :D

I blame it on my L,O,P,R and X entries :)

The unfortunate thing was it was never made clear what 'K' - King would be, hence the update on the 22/4/13 to make an attempt at clarification. I know if I had found a 'KING' beer I'd have just taken the hit and entered it, sadly I couldn't hence the gamble in my case.

As always everyone in the competition has their say as I personally feel it's the only fair thing to do.

Yay! Loads of people tried the spicy carpet beer :D

It was horrible :(

For my country, BELGIUM!!!!

Votes on contentious beers

(A) DirtyJester - Guinness Black Lager - Nope, nice beer though way way too tenuous for king.

(B) Ahleckz - Stone Brewing Co. Arrogant ******* Ale - I like the reasoning but the lack of the goblin on the front being kingy at all gives me the feeling its not a king so nope again.

(C) Seabiscuit - Brains Brewery The Rev. James - Nope, reverends aren't kings, they are preachers.

(D) Windle - Caesar Augustus - Not a chance, had my thought about entering that, Though he might have been ceremonially king of Egypt he made his name a emperor of Rome (which is what I thought the tittle of Caesar related to).

(E) robfosters - Thwaites Lancaster Bomber - Nope, without rules we would be like the french, if that was acceptable then a winchester beer could have been fine...

(F) Repta - Robinson's Old Tom - Nope, lacks any royalty at all.

You do a great job DJ and we all appreciate it.

Apologies if I've said too much :D

Doing a great job is debatable, yes I try to do the best that I can by everyone. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but in the end of the day/night as long as the beer is cold and the laughs plenty it's always a success :D

...and no mate you didn't say too much at all :)
