so whats everyone doing on this hot day then and how hot is it near you

I'm in the house with the fan on me its 26'c on the weather gadget and its about 40'c in direct sunlight. TOO HOT!

Servicing the car and taking the inlet manifold off again. Listening to music and eating ice lollies at the same time.

Where do you stay? 40c sounds a bit optimistic for the UK.

I was filling a skip with concrete and rubbish, tidied the garage out and now beer + tennis. Lovely weather :)

curtains closed

two fans, one on each side

feet in a bucket of water

eating ice cream

(my flat is around 25c ambient)

40°c in direct sunlight is about right for today tbh.

I've 2 temp sensors in the garden.

The shaded one is reading 31.1°c currently and the one getting direct sunlight hit 39.6°c

I love my garden, direct sunshine from around 11am til sunset.

Would people please complaining it is too hot?

Coming from the winter we just had, this is pretty nice and we know it won't last so go drink something cold in the shade outside and enjoy it !

Only thing I don't like this time of the year is its nice and sunny outside but I can't go outside without popping 3 hayfever tablets.

27-28 degrees out this way. Always think i should do more on a hot days, other than sit inside on pc. But options are limited and there is no chance i am sitting on a train to go in to london or walking around a shopping complex in this heat. uk just not made for the heat, i am happy to just chill at home with some beers in my shorts. Might bbq some chicken later, i cooked some sausages yesterday in the communal garden and my essex neighbors looking at me strange for bbq sausages by myself lol. :D
