This is really annoying me, on 14.6 drivers. Have frame pacing method to 0 or 1 doesn't cure it, nor does changing v sync settings, nor does switching between mantle and dx11. Here is what the graph looks like:

Well, anyone have any ideas?

That's not normal. I've never seen gpu spikes like that. How does your setup run other games? Was it always like this or just started happening?

renderaheadlimit 1?

Retro BF3 fix not applicable with Mantle. Lowering it just hurts fps in BF4 in DX or Mantle.

It was never like this, I haven't played it for several driver updates and patches, and I haven't had time for gaming recently, but it runs fine in dota 2, which I can always make time for ;).

I will monitor ram usage, as I am using 4 gigs with only 2 chrome tabs open, and a youtube video playing.

Are you running full screen mode? Try repairing game files and updating punkbuster using pbsetup.

I get lots of stutter on my GPUs too trifire 290s @ 4K - I have tried everything I can think of to fix it.

- 14.4 drivers
- 14.6 Beta and RC
- Over and underclocks
- CPU, memory
- Game settings

Nothing seems to help... :(

You do (or did) need to adjust this in BF4 atleast with DX with multi-GPU setups or you'd get stutter (try circle strafing around the monument on the firing range map about at the point of the A spawn and watch the vegetation while changing it from -1 through to 3) unfortunately it can drop about 5% off your FPS with the right setting to fix the stutter but is needed in some cases with both SLI and CF.

Can't remember exactly what settings worked best now though.

However its probably not that as it didn't result in spikes like on the graph in the screenshots was more like bad microstutter. Those spikes look more like something outside the game is impacting performance i.e. just for illustration anti-virus.

So I played around with this a bit more and I found that if I ran with medium settings I get stutter with trifire. If I run with high or ultra I get no stutter.

With 2 card crossfire I have no issues at any setting...

This is very weird.

i have the same issue but i have the below every 10secs stutters really bad goes from 80-100 fps to 30fps then back up (running x fire 2x 290x. i got the below specs and i have tried everything etc new drivers under clocking if you find a fix let me know

Can you take a screenshot in game with all the overlays enabled so we can take a look? The UI Info overlay should let us know how much vram you're using. Also what settings and resolution are you using? Are you using a custom User.Cfg file? Are you playing in proper Full Screen Mode and not Borderless Mode?

Here is an example screenshot with the relevant info.

Here is mine, odd thing is that it doesn't show VRAM.

With DirectX I get CPU and GPU spikes, with Mantle only CPU spikes. Additionally if I have HT off I get 100% CPU utilisation, with HT on I get 25-40% and one of the HTs is maxed.

I have tried:
- 1, 2 or 3 cards
- Resolutions
- Graphics levels
- Drivers
- Fresh reinstalls
- RAM
- SDD
- Over and under clocks

This call started 2ish weeks ago and before that the same setup was fine. :(
