Muhammad Ali has been put on life support after he was rushed to hospital on Thursday, according to reports.

The legendary boxer, regarded as the greatest heavyweight of all-time, was believed to be in a ‘fair’ condition but he has been put in intensive care.

Ali’s family, including four of his nine children, are at his bedside and have been told by doctors that they fear the 74-year-old ‘is near the end’.

Daughters Laila, Hana and Maryum, are at the hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona, where Ali is believed to be suffering with a respiratory problem.

A True Legend & not only in the ring either it will be a sad day when we lose him a real sad day. :(

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but does 'advanced' parkinsons affect the brain? Does he know whats going on around him? I remember watching an interview with Prince Naseem once saying how Ali was his hero, and the last he went to see him Ali didn't even recognise him. (and they were supposed friends) That was quite a few yrs back, so one can only assume, he's been only getting worse and worse.

Must be very difficult for such a charismatic personality to be rendered mentally debilitated.

I remember my Dad telling me about going to see Ali's first 'Frazier' fight with his brother in law. They both had a small bet with each other about who would win, and I can recall him saying that neither man ever appeared quite the same again after that contest.

Wow.

Loved his quotes.
Asked how he would like to be remembered, he once said: "As a man who never sold out his people. But if that's too much, then just a good boxer. I won't even mind if you don't mention how pretty I was."
