I would probably need it once a week on weekends, as I am using a lot of power playing pokemon go. I am looking at getting a Nexus 5X in the next week, so I will probably be charging even more.
I just dont want to buy a cheap one and find that it blows up next to my bed whilst I am sleeping.
Would fast charge be a feature worth getting? How much of a difference does it make.
I don't think it needs to be really high capacity, just enough to charge my phone and DS when im away at a wedding or something, I'd be able to charge it evey day after usage.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Anything by Anker is a pretty safe bet an yes I'd recommend going for something with a 2a or quick charge output it your devices support it.

Any of the high capacity Anker ones are your best choice.

Just bear in mind if you go too high with the capacity, it's probably the equivalent of carrying around an extra 3-4 phones. So sometimes the medium sized ones are best.

I've found this: Anker Astro E1 5200mAh Ultra Compact Portable Charger External Battery Power Bank with PowerIQ Technology for iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Nexus, HTC and More (Black) for £13.99
Would that be good for what i need it for?

Or the powercore 10000mah for £20.99

There is also the 20000mah for £27.99

I've got that exact one works well for keeping my Moto x topped up in emergencies and isn't too big or heavy.

Edit: The Astro 5200mAh

Same one i bought my partner for Christmas, gone up a couple of £ though. But yeah that'll be fine - should give you almost 2 full charges on the 5X.

I got the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 to keep in my motorcycle pack, can charge my 6S Plus about 10 times!

It's not really a pocket size one though unless you wear cargo shorts!

Depends on size preference, I have the PowerCore 20000 one and it's just a little taller than my 6P. I would go with the 10000 minimum if you plan to walk around often for GO, should last the weekend easily. The 13000 has 2 USB ports so you can charge two devices at the same time if you have a friend who plays with you.

Shame the price went up though, the 20000 was only around £20 when I bought it months ago :p.

Hijacking this thread, I am after one too but I notice most, if not all of them, charge by USB themselves. If I wanted to charge one from a wall plug (for quicker charging), could I just get a UK wall plug that accepts USB cable? Any issues with voltage, etc?

That would be fine USB is a set standard with regards to voltages and current and the powerbank will only draw as much as it needs so there's no issue charging it from any form of USB charger.

Just be aware that it won't necessarily charge any faster.

I know a lot of Ingress players and 90% of them use anker. I also have one and even tho it will only half charge I can play Ingress all day and it will keep my phone fully charged

I'm a regular Ingress player and I've got 2 Anker chargers. A smaller lighter one as a general charger, and a bigger heavier one for when I know I'll be on a big Ingress, Geocaching and (now) Pokemon session.

I can't fault either of the Anker chargers - good quality gear.

Anyone know where to get them aside from amazon/ebay?
There are some in ebay that do deliver but they have quite low feedback.

None of them ship to NI as they are part of the dangerous goods. Which is a joke since they can ship mobile phones with battey
