Rx 470 vs titan 6gb

Honestly - only thing that titan has over the 470 is 2 gigs; but supposedly there are 8 gig version of the 470.

470 is at least as fast as 290 if not a little more which is faster than the titan.....problem is you have too many that will automatically just to say titan without bothering to do any research at all......;)

Just wondering as a mate has both cards and is willing to lend me one while I save for my bettercard from ocuk

Would those saying Titan care to explain why they would go original Titan. In just about all new games especially those with a next Gen API the RX470 should be the better card.

Is anyone suggesting the Titan actually going to justify their recommendation, or is it based on the name alone? From everything I can see, the RX 470 should be at least as good in DX11, whip it in DX12/Vulkan and use less than half the power whilst doing so.

I would suggest overclocking. The 470 simply can't be overclocked to the same extent as a Titan which will gain a noticeable boost from overclocking.

If you're mostly playing games that support PhysX (Batman games, mostly), or you extensively use other Nvidia-only features such as Shadowplay, go for the Titan.

If you're planning on playing new games, including DX12/Vulkan ones, go for the RX470.

If you mainly play one game then check the benchmarks for that game and see if it prefers one manufacturer over the other, and choose that card.

If your usage is going to be varied, and not heavily biased towards PhysX, then I'd go for the RX470 for lower power consumption and newer tech/features, but you're probably going to be happy with either as a temporary stopgap while saving up for your next GPU.

So a load of fanboy bull then, VRAM argument aside. Exactly what I expected.

I have 2 machines, 1 AMD and 1 Nvidia and have had more AMD cards than Nvidia so no I certainly am not a fan boy. I have found much more games work better with Nvidia and come ready for Nvidia from the games I play (1600 on steam), and I have always had issues with AMD drivers on every card I purchased from them and rarely issues with Nvidia. The extra 2gb vram is also something that sways me towards the titan.
