Rx 470 vs titan 6gb

At the moment am playing GTA5. but will start to look into replacing my ps4 games for pc ones. when ive got my pc up to date.

Just wondering as a mate has both cards and is willing to lend me one while I save for my bettercard from ocuk

Flip a coin and don't waste anymore time with the arguing in this thread.:)

Which ever card you are going to use is only going to be for a short time and it won't cost you anything.

Titan was clocked at 1110 gpu. 3138 mem. With 1162 volts Rx470 was 1300 gpu. 1800 mem. Means nothing to me because there both different cards.

The Original Titan? that makes no sense to me. why are people recommending it?

The RX 470 is a much better card. its faster and has bang upto-date features.

I wouldn't recommend a Titan over a GTX 970 for the same reason i wouldn't recommend a GTX 970 over an RX 470.

I have 2 machines, 1 AMD and 1 Nvidia and have had more AMD cards than Nvidia so no I certainly am not a fan boy. I have found much more games work better with Nvidia and come ready for Nvidia from the games I play (1600 on steam), and I have always had issues with AMD drivers on every card I purchased from them and rarely issues with Nvidia. The extra 2gb vram is also something that sways me towards the titan.

Where have you been for the last couple of years? Honestly, if you are going single GPU both sets of drivers are as good/bad as each other. However if you are thinking of going multi-gpu than Nvidia is streets ahead.

I don't think the Vram argument works in this case either. The Titan was surpassed by 4GB cards within a year.

If you are just getting a loan of a card for a short while than just pick whichever one interests you most.

The only thing I will say is that if you are planning on buying an AMD card down the line than consider getting the 470, or the titan if you plan to buy a Nvidia card. That means you won't have to worry about running ddu or anything like that. Just install the card and go.

This

People stating dodgy drivers on AMD's side clearly haven't been running AMD for some time, They've been good for years and exemplary since they started Crimson. There has been teething pains with Polaris but they seem to be on top of things, For me with a Fury the drivers have been perfect, They were close to perfect with the 290x I owned before that but they were slow with driver updates back then so as mentioned if you are considering AMD borrow the 470 and see for yourself don't take the word of someone who's running Nvidia. AMD's single gpu driver support is fine, Nvidia's is no better or worse.

I don't agree at all, AMD drivers are just plain crap.

RX470, simply faster card.

Some of the above who suggested Titan, are the same arguing in here few years ago, about the power consumption of the 290 against the Titan.

Now they advice the Titan against the more powerful and more power efficient AMD card...

Both cards are for sale. So I was going to loan one for a week or two then buy it. The titans more expensive

470 is miles better than the original titan. This is just your usual misinformed tosh. I have a 470 and I think its great for the price. You can't really see much difference between it and the 480. Overclocks well too.

Lol, there's probably as much difference between your 470 and the Titan as there is between your 470 and a 480. So with that in mind the 480 is "miles better" than your 470 :p;)
