007 First Light

Not into hitman etc so dont think i will like this much, my days of sneaky sneaky games are over lol

You should use performance with DLSS.

Option L.
I am at 3440x1440 so DLSS Q and preset M - best settings for this resolution.

This has nothing to to do with settings or my rig. It has everything to do with PT being unoptimised. The patches will come. Besides, I already did one playthrough so no rush.

Well I'm playing it maxed out at 3440x1440 on a 4090, DLSS Performance, L, FG3 and it's not even breaking a sweat.

You must be joking right? No wonder it isn't breaking a sweat when you are playing at 3440x1440 and DLSS performance on a 4090. And to add salt to it you play with FGx3
So you are saying PT is not heavy in this game and doesn't need optimization patches? The devs even acknowledged that it does.
Besides, in case you are not aware, there is a difference between playing at DLSS Q and preset M and DLSS P and preset L. If I play at your settings my rig won't break a sweat either.
PT needs patching. Period.

The base FPS with PT in this game is whacked and ioi have recognised this and said they are patching this issue.

Thankfully at the moment you can use FG to kind of work around this, the base FPS still remains low but the input latency is kept under control well enough by Reflex whether you use native game FG or native DLSS MFG via the mod.

I've been playing with 4x MFG because of this and getting 130fps+ in busy areas.

Will drop to 2xFG once they patch it hopefully soon but otherwise it's been a really smooth experience playing with controller.

For an optimised PT experience the game should be rendering a base pre-FG fps of 60, that is the case with all other PT games on a 4090 with a 4K output with upscaling, Quality or Performance doesn't matter as dlss 4.5 renders more detail now than native regardless and it's very clean with the new preset models.

IKR! Same for me, I'm playing at 720p on a 5090, DLSS Ultra Performance, L, FG6 and the game just runs. Not idea what these others are talking about.

We need more BIG ORANGE path tracing comparisons.

@willhub How on earth do you stream with frame gen on, what are you using? If I stream any game to my Steam Deck (Using Sunshine+Moonlight) with x2 frame gen on it's totally unplayable latency....

I use Moonlight stream, and VibePollo for the host.

I've recently been trying StreamTweak instead of Moonlight

Point is (for me), the game looks and runs great with DLSS and FG.

If you don't like the tech then don't use it.

I like both because they increase frame rate without any visual (again for me) compromise, and allows my GPU to run nice and cool.

There's a bug that messes up performance sometimes if you fiddle with graphics settings, and it doesn't go away until you restart. I think that's what they encountered at that 1080p test on the 5070 because you definitely don't get those issues there normally, especially at console settings. You can just about manage it without a stutter at 1440p even.

Yeah I have not touched the GFX settings since setting them early on and not seen a single stutter since

Just got around to trying out path tracing in this and the difference with PT  :D

Are those photos of the monitor? Wtf is this guy for real :D
Yes because I use my monitor to it's max potential (HDR ON! 240HZ ON! RTX ON!) and there is no way to take HDR screenshots without the image/colours getting messed up (all the ways people have said to try for capturing hdr do not work, colours never look right in a screenshot with hdr on). No capping to peasant 60/120 fps here with SDR.

Reactions: TNA
Photos of the screen showing PT vs no PT will never quite work lol
Screenshots with completely wrong colours don't work...

You can clearly see the difference in the photos in terms of shadows missing, lighting being far more natural, reflections of light sources in the metal i.e. you see exactly what path tracing is adding to the image.
