02 Contract Question ?

Hi Guys

I have a 12 month contract with 02 which i started in april ! All well and good untill i got my blackberry through work and now i simply do not need the £50 a month tarrif. I was under the impression i simply had to ring and downgrade a tarrif every 30 days but 02 are saying i have to wait 9 months. Is there a way around this ive tried going to there supervisor but have had no luck there either.

Its just a pain paying £60 a month on a contract that i never use .... Could get me a gym membership or something

If it states in your contract you can only downgrade after 9 months then no.

The thing is the phone you got with your contract would have been subsidised in line with the contract you took out so O2 would be losing out if they let you downgrade so early.

This is very annoying, especially since i started on 45.00 a month tarrif and moved up after 2 months because i was going over my free minutes. Surly i should be able to downgrade to that :| I didnt re sign another contract as far as i was aware just wanted to up the tarrif.

Annoys me, they allow me to upgrade but when i want to go back down they wont allow it, its not like i want to cancel my contract :|

I don;t see why they wouldnt let you go back down to the £45 as they won;t be loosing any money on the actual cost of the phone then.

I downgraded after 6 months on an O2 12 month contract to the lowest tariff,but my missus had to wait for 9 months on her 18 month contract,the person on the phone said you have to wait untill you have completed half of your contract.
