1,000mbps powerline adaptors

so using a Belkin surgemaster extension to plug the Powerline into over using a regular extension increased your speeds by 8mbps? Or have I got that wrong?
i Have a Belkin surge protector too, worth bearing that in mind.

As above, the adapters shouldn't be plugged into a surge protector. I assume the surge protector is just acting to filter out some of the electrical noise from the equipment plugged into it.

Yes got that, thanks -powerline, straight into socket. Interesting though that the surge protector helps decrease electrical noise then if your pc is plugged to that.. thus powerline/belkin surge doing an even better job

of course dependent on electrics in house. Small house, but electrics about 18 yrs old

the belkin surge protector is meant to reduce 30db of noise if im correct so every bit less helps

heres is what my pc gets wired in will do 500mpbs screenies once I've copied these files

That's a pretty decent for a Powerline connection. Still slower than even 10/100 over a wired connection, but good enough for most purposes.

yeh tbh only really send a few films over the LAN so its fine and I only have 60mb internet so it maxes that.

If it was possible I would wire it in but I can't atm. well I can but it means 30 meters of ethenet cable running from the lounge to upstairs.

might try and get the wife to let me have the pc downstairs sometime.

My upstairs/downstairs network cables run externally. With my house it was much easier than trying to find a sensible route, and it didn't damage the decorating.

Ok so i just figured out why my internet has been so poor on my PC with these adapters.... having my bedroom lights turned off increases the speed from 2Mb or less to ~15Mb :D :D  ****ing wiring in this room has always been sketchy and and now it's been proven again !

I find my BT powerline adaptors sometimes need a reset as the start to go slow :-(

If it were my house I'd be running cable, wifi and PLA just seem flakey to me.
