1:1 pixel mapping - VX2025wm/2407WFP

I'm considering buying the Viewsonic VX2025WM. I have a 7900 GTX My main game is Battlefield 2. What does this game run like on this monitor?

Also playing Prey, Q4, Hl2, CS etc but they have WS option.

I am beginning to agree with this. I was up late night testing a 7900 with the VX2025 and couldn't get it to work even though it was fine with an older 7800GT. Probably get it to work with a 6800. Might try it later this week.

Someone on another thread mentioned the EDID table for the monitors. Maybe it is something to do with the way that is interpreted by the card and drivers. I wonder if that's a problem for the card or monitor manufacturers?

since the monitor isn't designed with any aspect options i'm sure they would claim it's a problem for the graphics card manufacturers :) I'm hoping to have chance to test the VX2025WM myself in a couple of weeks so i'll see what results i get as well. It's a strange situation
 
Looking at this forum now in my new VX2025wm.

Absolutely incredible!!!!!

Beuatiful display, very intense colours and everything looks, er, weird at the moment!!

A definate recommendation from me on this one.

im hoping this is the case, or even better - be a standard for both ATI and nvidia drivers, i'm tempted to get this one, but the Phillips appeals to me a lot more... I'm running an ATI card (X1900XT), and haven't heard many do this software aspect scaling with ATI cards, has anyone done this successfully with Rivatuner?
 
I had a Viewsonic 2025 and so did a couple of my mates. They all had the problem with backlight bleed coming from the 4 corners. Kind of an x shape. And I know a few people who did on these forums too. That is the main reason I would never buy a Viewsonic again. Annoying bleed. The Dell 2007 seems better in this respect and of course if hdcp support matters to you, then it has it.
 
Just incase people are having problem getting the ViewSonic to scale properly, here's a couple of screenshots to show you where to look.

Right click desktop > properties > settings > advanced > your graphics card tab > nView display settings > device settings > device adjustments > centred output





As for the mentioned 'bleeding', you can hardly see it unless you have a black image and you're really looking for it (and haven't calibrated the monitor correctly).

I love this monitor.
 
I'm a bit of a noob with WS monitors, but got my eye on the 2407WFP.

Deos this monitor "aspect scale" on a hardware level, i.e. 1600 x 1200 would fill the screen vertically, but have 2 black areas either side? That would be ideal for running older games etc.
