1.25 Fiesta Vs 1.2 75bhp Punto

Find something like a JD power survay look and who is ranked above who....

Punto came 103rd fiesta came 71st.........

You can get good and bad cars from each manufacturer but some makers are more likely to give you problems due to design and quality of components.

JD power survey is only cars up to 3 years old,

quite what difference that makes to how long it takes before a car falls into a heap of component parts is any bodies guess.

Ford fanboy by any chance?

me personally i hate both and drive an A4 :)

Ford fanboy, haha that would be the day, no i drive a french car but would rather have a ford than an italian motor (Unless it was a Supercar ;) )

no seriously brand new then maybe i'd be tempted to a return to the blue oval

but on a budget of say up to 2-3k get the punto

much more car for the money and it whoops the ford on performance

I still say out of the two the ford, but given the choice if it was my money, it would probably be an older focus 1.6 (ded easy to insure a lot faster than both and better equipped, generally better) depends on budget, but get a car the insurers dont class as chav and you can have something a lot better.

i used to have a 1.25 fiesta a while back (S reg) and it was pretty quick to 50 as everyone else has said. nice engine :D

no i currently drive a a4

first car i had was dads beemer and a fiesta turbo :)

although this was many a year ago when insurance was silly cheap still :)

IIRC the fezzy turbo was under a grand fully comp :)

try that now young whippersnappers

Would a Punto 85 SX give the same kindof performance as the Sporting? Plus it is a lower insurance group, as a fiesta or punto would be my first car.

my first car was a fiesta 1.25 1997, it was so very reliability. My brother drives it now and its still going strong. Its also quite quick

yea get the fiesta, unless u want to be part of a "punto crew" with yer missus.

fiesta = lots of cheap parts/garages who can deal with them easily... = reliable/cheap motoring..

I had the 75bhp Punto (well my mother did), it's no pocket rocket, but it's quick enough for a young driver. Insurance is steep on them though. MPG is fine.

The fiesta is more fun to drive, but less room inside. If I had to choose, I'd get the fiesta, but I'd look at a slightly older golf too.

Ive got a very tight budget of £1000.

Also to Add, would a 1.1 Citroen Saxo be good? its cheap on insurance :P

Is that £1000 including insurance?

How much can you afford for insurance, and what's your postcode like?

If you can afford the insurance get a Rover 214. Miles quicker than the Fiesta or Punto, more toys and a fraction of the price.

My postcode is HP13....

I was thinking of one of those late 90's 214.. they look alright, but are they reliable?

Also, the £1000 is for the car ;)
