1.25 Fiesta Vs 1.2 75bhp Punto

My postcode is HP13....

I was thinking of one of those late 90's 214.. they look alright, but are they reliable?

Also, the £1000 is for the car ;)

Probably as reliable as the punto, if you want reliability get the Ford. :)

Don't really see how you can say one car is as reliable as another without having owned either.

I might as well speak for everyone else...

"no don't get a rover, they're crap, they break all the time, the headgaskets constantly fail bla de bla bla" :)

Just because i havent owned either doesn't mean i don't know people who have, and so i can use thier experiences as an example. :)

I never said Rovers were terribly unreliable, but from other peoples experiences the Fiesta is more reliable, to the op the reliability will be a big issue as he isnt spending a lot on a car and so doesnt want to spend heaps replacing parts etc.

The Rover is a lot of car for the money as i have said to you before, its a lot bigger than the fiesta, is faster than the fiesta and is probably cheaper than the fiesta so in some ways it is the *better option*, although it is way way more expensive to insure being an insurance group 8 or something, and it was costing you what nearly 2k a year tptf, hardly sensible if he only has 1k to spend on a car.

The Fiesta on the other hand is chepaer to insure good on fuel, and has a good 1.25 zetec engine, and its only 1.5 seconds slower to 60 so not that much slower, also it is arguably more reliable so will be cheaper to run.

So yes the Rover is good if you can find a good insurance quote and want a car that size, if not the fiesta is also a good car albeit in a small package.

Also chill out :)

Ive been constantly checking out smallish cars, and came accross a Renault megane coupe 1.6e.

There group 6 insurance which isnt bad, are they any good motors though?

I wouldn't base insurance quotes on the insurance groups, these don't really mean much to be honest. Get on an online quote system and run some quotes (alter your age etc accordingly).
