Marvin you are sooooo wrong with the placebo effect thing.

Seriously try one. Then make an opinion. Yes some people are much more sensitive to it than others but there is a difference.

What do you mean try one? I had one? Try reading.

I'd take IPS over 120Hz any day though, because I believe that the whole 'it looks smoother because it's 120Hz' thing is just the placebo effect. As for 3D, I had a 3D setup (2233RZ + 3D Vision) and just found that I'd leave the glasses to the side of my desk and just played in 2D.

Pretty strong suggestion that I had 120Hz, since I had the 2233RZ...

Sorry I didn't have time to read everything.

Did you ever try a game out that ran at 120fps then it killed your rig down to 60fps? The difference is huge in the refresh rate. Like I said, for some it's very noticeable and for some its not.

Yep, but I really believe it's not a problem at 60Hz. I am no professional player, but I do like my FPS and racing games mostly, so I do play the games which are most susceptible to 120Hz benefits...

ebilcake, fair dos. I thought there was a 3007 that was only 1920x1200, but I might be wrong...

Buy a normal 580 no point getting a 3gb one and u got to love the ati fanboys who come into a thread about the 580 3gb vs 1gb for the second sli card and start talking about how 6950 crossfire is awesome lolololol lol

Of course I can for desktop use which is what these are intended for, movies and games not so much.

As for final8y, I really dont care, I don't remember why but I don't put people on my ignore list for no reason.

I'm pretty sure I've already answered that, but yes I have tested this monitor.

I don't remember why you putting me on an ignore list but it it was not for trolling but it seems you have your own unique definition of the term.

It was most likely for disagreeing with you & your tone of imposing your preferences on other just like you did here, this is the first time that i have seen someone tell another to get rid of a single 30" 2560x1600 without justification besides the obvious that anyone buying a or owning 30" 2560x1600 will already know that it will be costly to run.

So when i ask what do i need to run a 30" 2560x1600 then i would expect an answer to achieve it & not be told to get rid of it.

Once i have been told what i would need then it would be for me to decide whether or not i think it is worth the cost.

Well I can definitely vouch for 580's in SLI, I am running a 30" monitor at 2560 x 1600, been playiny Crysis 2 at maximum settings looks amazing and runs like butter!! watercooled them too, but don't have any need to overclock at the moment. just do it!
