#1 FPS GAME

MOHAA was the first game that really got me into online games. I still had 56K modem to play it on, but I put countless hours into that game.

Yep me too. That game screamed perfection from all directions and set the bar for cinematic gaming.

BC2 is the only FPS (or game of any genre for that matter) that I've put any serious time into, so I'll go with that. Multiplayer only though, the single player was pretty mediocre.
Just started playing Quake Live recently - it's fun, but I can't see myself liking it as much as BC2.

1) C&C Renegade, it might not of been in depth or beautiful but online it was an amazingly fun game.

Great shout. Me and my mate always thought that was massively underrated (I believe reviewers hated it).

Delta Force 2! Spent so many hours playing TKOTH.

And then messing around with the level creator, setting spawn points on planes etc!

Used to play it with my mates, and being the only one who'd bothered to read the manual and find out how to adjust the scope and longer distances went down a treat with them!

Even though L4D is a shooter, i don't think that's the best part of it (everyone wants to play infected) so i would have to leave that out my list. Definitely in my top 3 multiplayer games though.

Purely fps games it would have to be

HL2 for sp
BF3 for mp

I genuinely loved playing survivors and infected both as much as one another. Well, actually... I used to flit between one and the other but could never decide!

Funny how awful it was playing single player compared to online.

HALO! that got me into fps but BF3 and Crysis 2 are keeping me here.

Quake with a 3Dfx card, back in the day played it nearly every day before firing up my daily dose of Grand Prix 2 on my 486 Dx2 66… lol

After that, well has to be Half Life 2, played this more then I should have for a single player game.

Half Life was also good, but Half Life 2 was the one for me.

So,

Quake with 3Dfx glide exe
Half Life 2 closely behind this.

I’d mentioned Jedi Knight – Dark Forces 2 however its got something missing that Quake and Half Life 2 have got but can’t quite explain it.
