Or alternatively when you upgrade to 3gb, Community Fibre will send you a Technicolor router with a 10gb port. It's only one port, so you'll need a switch still if you want to wire up more than one device.

Edit: If the PC is the only thing that will be wired, you could consider just saving a bit of money by connecting the Pc to that 10gb port, and get a 1gb PoE switch to power the access points, and connect that to the other ethernet ports on the Technicolor, which are gigabit only.

Sorry i need a switch, not router.

The issue I have is I can only run one cable (its over the roof) to the middle of the house, so will need the 10 gb port to run into the router to do both the access point and PC.

I had it installed last week.
 
Cheap cat 8 is just likely to be stuck a name on cat5/6 plus it will be stiffer and harder to install.
