Lovely Wolver-ampton!
I've always done one space after a comma or full stop. A friend my missus works with is adamant it's 2 spaces after a full stop. I've never ever heard of this - I've done various typing courses when at school, then worked in IT for 10 years or so.

What's the rest of the world think??

It should be one. If you look at things like LaTeX they automatically ignore extra spaces you try and insert (unless u do it in a special way) to be 'correct'.

Eh? Two spaces after a full stop just looks silly. See? BIG GAP. Compared to that< (one space) which looks lovely.

Shame the forum defaults to one space :p

one space after a comma

how do you guys not know this?

(This is standard practice)
No, it's one space for a space. How can you not know this?
Although it has become acceptable, if not accurate, to put two after a full stop. So long as it's consistent it should look okay.

There is also an apostrophe in it's when short for it is/it has. Perhaps you should familiarise yourself with existing grammar and spelling before trying to introduce new fads?

Ok, if it's 2 spaces, why doesn't WORD automatically add in the extra space if you only press once?

It might be 2 in typewriting, but in word processing I'm sure it's one. It's only one in books (unless the formatting is set to justify the text as and even sided block).

It's one space. Step into the modern world! :p
