10" Racks

It might just be this one. They also do a 2.5gbe 8 port i think which is a similar size, but doesn't come with the 10" rack ears, just the ones that fit it to a 19" rack. Though youd never be able to tell from the website because they cant be bothered to make it clear. Digitus do a 16 port 10" switch too i think.

Yeah Digitus do a range of 10 inch rack switches but AFAIK no 2.5 or 10gbe options, the Zyxel has screw holes for rack ears and happens to fit a 10 inch rack but is sold with fittings for 19 inch.

there are 3D printable ears for the Zyxel switch i think. The Unify 16 port switch should fit on a shelf or again, 3D print a rack holder. its only 1Gbe though, its also quite deep.

Not a fan of using 3D printed parts for rack use personally, there are generic rack ears which fit the Zyxel fine - as I used

Decided to add a patch panel to neaten things up though I'm still not really convinced - but having to make up my own cables as all my patch cables lack the flexibility for a 10" enclosure (they'll fit but the strain won't be good in the long run) - or at least the one I have which has half the depth from the door as my 19" rack.

Bumping this to see if anyone is still doing Miniracks, thought it better then starting a new thread.

Just wanting to know what people are using if they still are or was this more of a fad thing thats flashed and burned?

Still got my setup with 3d printed rack mount slots for my smaller footprint unifi setup.

Still same as what you posted or any changes.

Bumped it as im intreasted in racking my unifi gear with some extras, pi4, hue, etc.

Mine is still boxed up waiting to be used, pending downstairs cupboard space being finished. I'll post pics once done :)

Cab is mostly there.

SOHO 8U Wall 10" Cabinet
2 x PDU
2 x shelves
Zyxel XMG-105HP and Zyxel XMG-105 access switches (both 5 port 2.5GbE, one with PoE++ for cameras later on) linked via DAC
GeeekPi 10-Inch 2U Dual Fan Cooling Panel w/temp monitoring

This is in a storage cupboard on the ground floor where the main services come in which made it ideal for running CAT6 back to. I ran conduit under the floor when had it up which goes to the front of the property for future planning of FTTP coming through there into the same space. PDU's are wired into a switched fused spur near the cab.

I've put all my home gear in to a 3d printed rack (LabRax). There's plenty of options out there for "proper" looking shelves for the usual lenovo M7XX gear, and a few parametric models if you want your specific brand of switch to have it's own custom tray.

Full rack used almost exactly 1kg of filament, so cost me about £15 plus screws & nuts.
