100 year old sprinter

How many years are required for citizenship? 5?

How do we know that he didn't move to this country at the age of 95? I'd imagine it's damned near impossible to learn a new language at 95.

So many welsh people who only speak welsh aren't British?

There are people that only speak Welsh? LOL! How dumb.

And Scots speaking gaelic. And of course, not forgetting the deaf & mute who are clearly dirty foreigners because they don't speak English.

logic out the window.

How can people know if he is interesting if most of us british can't understand him:rolleyes:

He's interesting because he's 100 and runs :confused:

What is dumb about it?

I know people far more intelligent than myself who predominately speak in Gaelic alone and for whatever reason shun English.

Are they, and myself by extention, also dumb?

To only know Welsh is ridiculous... you're cutting yourself off from everywhere in the world but a few parts of Wales.

Am I right to assume there's Welsh only speaking schools then?

He raises a valid point.

No, he does not.

Why is it if you live in a community that speaks near exclusively native Welsh or Gaelic you class them as dumb?

No, he does not.

Yes he does, however you have yet to fully explain why differing cultures makes people 'dumb'.

I imagine it would be extremely easy to get an opportunity learn (and practice) English in Wales, so to pass that opportunity up seems very silly to me. Not bothering learning English means you've limited yourself and your children greatly, without any noticeable upside.

Also, you didn't answer my question on schools...

Yes he does, yet you have yet to fully explain why differing cultures makes people 'dumb'.

I never called differing cultures dumb.

Speaking Welsh doesn't equal British? lolwut?
Speaking Gaelic doesn't equal British? lolwut?

Comparing speaking Indian to the language of a country inside Britain is ridiculous.

I won't even touch on the dumb/deaf people... :confused:

Why is it doubtful that he is 100? If you've got access to evidence that suggests otherwise then you might wish to highlight to the BBC their story is not factually accurate.

100 year old sprinting and claiming to want to run a marathon? I think its fairly self explanatory why that story is doubtful and the onus is more on him to prove he is actually 100.

in other news...

Indian guy claims to have had no food or water for 70 years:

Indian is Worlds oldest dad at 94:

World oldest man was an Indian apparently:

Reality is that the accuracy of birth records or even their existence at all for Indian people born in India in the first part of the 20th century is likely to be dubious at best couple that with people wanting to be perceived as old for whatever cultural/status reasons and I wouldn't be too surprised if the seemingly amazing 100 year old potential marathon runner actually wasn't 100 after all.

I didn't answer it because I'm not Welsh and know very little of their education system.

Neither have you adequetely described why they, and other minorites, are dumb for following their historic culture?

Are these people dumb for having a cultural legacy?

I never called differing cultures dumb.

Yes you did by inference Steve;

"There are people that only speak Welsh? LOL! How dumb."

How dumb is indeed calling those who do not speak English dumb in context.

This

he may be british, but it doesnt take much, atleast he cant call him self native to england, for anyone that cares..

i say leave him alone, indians have done a lot for us, i like them, they like us.. why not pick on a terrorist? or some imigrant that only take from this country..

agree with dowie though, he probably isnt 100

Reading many of your posts, it is apparent you can hardly write your native language. "Surly" is a great example.

I will admit my English grammar is not the best but I use my head and hands to work, but I still work, have never been in trouble, never resorted to crime, pay my dues, love my country and never absconded when things get hard like certain immigrants do.

You sir are a ****

Its the sort of people like you that wind me up and boils my blood.

If cheets64 and this indian where standing side by side i know who i would be able to understand:rolleyes:

Good luck on your future living standards in Great Britain

Look cheets owns

:D

The same way you can be classed as an American citizen and not speak English, or a Canadian citizen and not speak English...?

Unaware, still seems stupid to me, but lets face it America/Canada was formed on slaughter and recent imperialism, it has no culture no history compared to Europe/Asia

What about French for Canada

Well I have :confused: My point was why only learn Welsh if you can learn English too?

That doesn't mean that's the only language they speak...

That's calling people who choose to only speak only Welsh dumb. Where did I call 'differing cultures' dumb?

:D

'Wiganese' translated

Putwoodin'th'ole = Close the door
Ahwurfairclemm't = I was rather hungry
Willy'eckerslike = He will not

Local dialect is be lost big time, no kids understand it or care, 20 years ago I was hearing it all the time now its very rare, same with every area, especially manc/lpool losing out to all this gangsta speak. RIP
