According to Wikipedia, the ancient Romans used fractions of 1/100, which are basically percentages. So there were probably Romans wandering about saying “C percentus!” to signify their agreement to things.

Decimated - to destroy one-tenth of something, usually a person, as a warning to the others.


So anyone saying that Gaza has been decimated is absolutely not doing it justice…

 
Noticed 'if that makes sense' used a lot more particularly after saying something very easy to understand.

It’s a handy way nowadays to tell when someone is lying because after they make a statement they say ‘100%’ to give it some credibility.

Not as stupid as some people saying they gave it 110% or others saying they'll reduce drug prices by 600%.
 
It comes from music I think, it became quite a common lyric "keep it 100" etc. And there's that 100 emoji everyone uses for it
