Yesterday my parents bought a 'Kirby Sentria' for £995.

Me personally I say RIPPED but my mother insists
"It cleans carpets, blinds etc. etc. and also comes with 35 years gurantee."

Opinions?

35 year guarentee, now usually, I'd laugh at that

But when I did some temp work for Miele, the amount of calls we'd have from people who have had their vacum cleaner/washing machine etc for 25 years and it had finally died and wanted a replacement under the lifetime guarentee

When you say it does carpets blinds etc etc does it actualy do it for you as in sid and do nothing while it zaps around the room.

we still have the old school kirby. and its still going strong. think we've had it about 25years now.

It is pretty heavy but its a powerful hoover. it gets serviced regularly. like someone said, if you want something to last then buy the kirby

They are excellent hoovers but £1000 is excessive. If she's a housewive though and cleaning is her thing then it's l ike splashing out on a bike, or car, or watch. I guess.

We have a Kirby but bought ours second hand. It's now 10 years old and still going strong. We have all the attachments for cleaning carpets and even turning it into a sprayer.

We tested it against a Dyson and to be honest I could suck more up through a straw than the Dyson :p

The Kirby's have a gearbox and auto drive which makes them easy to use. They are so powerful that they can suck dirt up through your carpet from your floorboards.

Ok, they are a lot of money but are mainly metal and built to last unlike most vacuums.

I've got a Kirby I inherited from my grandmother. She bought it new in 1962 and it's still going strong. $2k is probably too much, but they're fantastic vacuums.
