£1000 to spend to remember my Grandad

I think he said 1k and not 2k Danza;)

Easily pick up a nice one for <£1K.

But fair enough, he's not keen on the Seamaster anyhow.

Get in the watches thread. There's loads of info there. Watchuseek is a cracking forum too.

I'd like a kilt, but only one of my grandfathers is Scottish even though I've got a very scottish name, so it wouldn't seem genuine, what with my accent and all. :p

Yea, I'd really only suggest one if you have some real connection to Scotland.

Na, kinda kidding. Get one if you want, just hire one for the next event you need a suit for and see what it's like!

I love Christopher Ward's stuff. I've been looking for a watch for ages, it needs to have a white face, gold accent and black leather strap and a relatively small face (I have small wrists). I can't find one anywhere, they are all either massive or have loads of crap all over the dial (I don't need seven different smaller watches on my watch).

This is what I want: http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/dress/view-all-dress/c5gwk.html

Or, bit more expensive:

I know nothing about watches though. I pop into the jewellery section in Glasgow every month or so to see if I can find the watch I want but no luck yet. :(

Already have a very nice Christopher Ward watch that I wear every day. This £1000+ one would be for special occasions etc.

watchuseek is a cracking forum too.

Thanks.

I wouldn't say those watches are very nice suit watches. I'd go with something a lot classier and classic.

I'd go with the guitar.

When I was 14 my mum bought me a 2001 Fender American standard Start, which I still have to this day. I will have the guitar for the rest of my life and it will always remind me of my mum.

If you currently play guitar you will understand the huge sentimental importance of each guitar and the memories that surround each instrument.

How about a classic type watch, as opposed to something (new and shiney) that may look dated in 5-10 years. When my grandfather passed away, I was left with his Longines from decades ago. It's a beautiful looking thing, and although I don't wear it too often I much prefer wearing it than my posh watch.
