£1000 watch?

Big fan of IWC personally - http://www.iwc.com

Some can be a little fussy (tend to be towards the start of the brochure) but some of the more simplistic of the range (pretty much from the Pilots watches onwards in the online brochure) are just pure elegance.

Nice watch, ultimately if its what you like to wear then its the right watch,

There are a few very good forums for picking up second hand watches in (almost) new condition, their rating of what classifies as 'new' condition and when I got my Seamaster Planet Ocean from a member there it saved me a few quid
one of these (http://www.precisiontime.co.uk/omeg...net-ocean-chronometer-gents-watch-p-2076.html)
for £1400
bought my PO from a forum this side of the water and my speedmaster for when I want something a little less chunky delivered from the States.

Im going to be buying something from these guys, based locally and have had good feedback from a local forum who made a group buy from them. Id be going for a metal strap from them though.

Those watchs look awesome, in fact a lot better than most of the watchs posted in this thread that are 5x the price!

In fact I might look into getting one of their Chronopro pilot sport range, they look fantastic for the price.

A quick point. That titanium Panerai 177 that been posted and quoted in this thread is a replica. I guess that proves that if you don't know what to look for you can't tell.

For 1K, I'd be looking a used Seamaster first, as they're one of my favourite watches. Next up, would be something by Sinn, Hamilton, or a smaller independent brand like Damasko. No way would a quartz be on my list.

I thought I was going nuts when I saw some of the initial recommendations at £1K.

Then you realise it's an old thread and 15 years of inflation needs to be taken into accout :)

I killed my tag about 2 years ago by doing something VERY stupid... purchased it in 2005 and killed it in 2023 but I hardly wore it as bigger and better came along.
