1000watts sub

well, a cheap 250w rms car sub thats say "8 or "10 wont beat a z680, as i dont think the 180w z680 8" sub is a cheap sub.

One of my subs is a 100W 10", and it'll trounce the Logitech.

Stop going by power, it has nothing to do with loudness, nor sound quality. And that's the amplifier power, not the driver maximum power handling.

Duh i know, why do you think i put cheap in bold and underlined, i mean a cheap 10" speaker.

say if your 100w sub was 180w tho, it would be louder, so what if the 10" logitech sub was put into the same housing as your 10" 100w sub, then possibly the logitech would be louder, maybe the logitech wouldent be as good quality tho, i dont notice quality with subs much, i just want a louder sub, i aint after perfection, it costs too much.

Whats ALL of the specs of the Boss subwoofer?
How will it be better, quality, or loudness, or both?, if its not loudness, then to me its rubbish.

Like james said the driver in the Logitech sub is probably around £30, perhaps less. The one I use is a heavy duty Volt driver.

You can't polish a turd, and because you don't know the TS specs you can't just shove it into a random sized box.

Just buy a Adire Shire kit, ffs they're cheap, decent quality and have the parts and MDF wood pre-cut. Stop faffing around with the Logitech, just smash em and buy 4 Rel Studios.

so in other threads what all this crap about not been able to get a good sub for under £100, if its better than the z5500, then i can get a decent sub for cheap. Do i need to know what to do with them, no, i can read you know. But i really cant see been able to get a loud sub for £30, if it was £30, then surely it would be cheap and extreamly crap then, do you know the model of it? maybe there is a website with it on?

Open it up and write down the part number, if it's a generic driver might have a manufacter's stamp and part number. Then google the part number.

The point about £30 is the actual cost of the driver, it's a % of the total retail price, ie the driver in my sub is around £100, other sub £250.

ok, how am i supposed to get into the logitech sub, you take the screws out, and its still stuck on, i dont want to have to rip the front off.

i bought a 15" monster sub for £45 off the 'bay. put it in a 6cu.ft box and you've got one loud cheap sub. at that price it doesn't matter if the the sub is a little slow or the top end bass isnt perfect. its a bloody steal for what itcan do.

what you need to understand is that logi stuff, or indeed any all in one speaker/amp setup, are cheap components sold to the masses at a profit. nothing more.

£24.99 buy now. How much you betting it wont trounce the logi in every way?

Is there any sub that is say 188watt or lower, that can go a lot louder than the z5500's sub, that is 10", then maybe i can just replace the sub in the z5500 box, yea i know about special box size for subs and that, but maybe wont matter with the z5500 box.

I dunno what you mean, could you explain, also, i did want to do some tests with the sub, eg, max db it can do, any computer software that can do it with a mic?

You need a professional, calibrated microphones, and ideally access to an anechoic room, or build one yourself for around half a million pounds.

Or you could test outside, but usually you have other subs to test with to have a fair comparison, and identical testing methods.

In other words don't bother.

i have a 25w rms sub i could compare with :p?, what good would doing it outside do exept make more bass noise and **** people off.
