Hi,

I'm probably really late to the party but what about these Quantum Dot monitors, do they make a noticeable difference to colour and brightness or is just a gimmicky marketing thing to stick an extra £100 on the price?

I'm trying to decide between a 1080P and 1440P and the 1080P Samsung monitors are the same or very close to a good 1440P screen

Anyone have any experience and can comment? I quite like the look of the Samsung monitors too they are a bit cleaner looking than most

If they are just marketing gimmicks, can anyone recommend a very nice 1080P 144hz display that 27"

Thanks

well only in so much as it creates a slightly wider colour gamut and so makes colours appear more bright and vivid for multimedia. however, some people like that look, and others don't as it can also create complications if you;re doing any colour critical/photo work with content that is designed for the smaller, normal sRGB colour space
