10am Deal 21/01/10 - OCZ GOLD 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 TRIPLE CHANNEL KIT £107.99

DDR3 prices should actually be coming down in the following months... the manufactures are switching to DDR3 only, DDR2 is getting discontinued (So DDR2 will go up in price). Also manufactures are switching to 2x nm production which should lower costs still. Better yet, the manufactures are setting up new production facilities to pump out even more DDR3. So they have absolutely no excuse not to lower the price leading up to next year, so if they don't then you know you are getting ripped off again :(

DDR3 Pricing is actually on the way up. There are market shortages and the IC's are forcing manufacturers to purchase 2 x DDR2 to Every one DRR3 part.

Whats the cheapest item ocuk sell? A barb for 99p? Just buy one of them and the ram and get your free shipping, since the order no longer contains just the ram?

That's my whole point.. there are market shortages NOW but there won't be in the comming months, because not only are they swtiching from making DDR2 to DDR3 only, they are also creating more facilities to manufacture DDR3. Where as now there may be a 'shortage', but over the next year that excuse for high prices can't hold up any longer.Along with the manufacturing switching to lower die sizes, more chips can be held on each wafter. There simply isn't an excuse to put the prices up anymore.

The dollar to GBP is relatively stable an has been gradually increasing.
Silicon manufactures are employing more staff.
They are manufacturing at lower costs with smaller die sizes.
They are building more facilities for R&D as well as manufacturing.

Not to mention where they got all that money to build the facilities in the first place - PROFITS. They aren't suffering and loosing tones of money like we are supposed to accept. They are making more than enough profit, so much so that they are able to do the above. When the above is in place, they will make even more money. If prices keep going up it is simply down to greed, nothing else.

EDIT: I'm not saying that the high prices are your fault by the way, in case you think that is what I am insinuating. I am saying that it is the manufacturing that is ripping you off. - They should be cutting the prices a hell of a lot within the next year, and if they don't then I am sorry not only on customers behalf but on retailers behalf.
