Nice find. 320's are pretty decent - 2.2 straight-6, will hit 0-60 in 7.9s too.

There are loads of E46 cabs for sale for the upper budget, he can probably get a 330 if he wanted :)

Flipping heck. I didnt realise that E46 converts were so cheap.

How much did you expect them to be? Its an old model now, you can get early E46 saloons for as little as 5k now.

as its just a list thats being compiled, you best add a boxster to it.

personally i would be looking at e46 or boxsters.

I wouldnt go anywhere near a £10k Boxster, it will be a wallet sucking moneypit of doom.

13k will find an adequate boxster as this is purely for a list of possible cars. wether you would touch one or not is irrelevant, its in budget.

When you buy a Porsche, you don't want merely an adaquete one. You need a proper one, or you need not to bother. Frankly I don't think it should be on the list becuase I can't imagine a happy ownership experience and a sub £13k Boxster in the same story.

You been reading my christmas list as per chance ? :D

Maybe i have........... :p

Don't see a problem with getting a Boxter for 13k, base ones come in at 9k now for an S plate, fair enough when something goes wrong its going to cost but they are built well and last a fair while.

the fact it is a convertible and in budget means it should be on the list, its not your list. let it be on the list and let the person doing the buying decide wether its going to be a money pit or not. if we all agreed on a single car to be on the list, mnutz would go back to his mate and say 'xx car' is what you want. which would be silly.

The guy clearly needs guidance or he'd not have asked ocuk which car to buy. You think he knows the perils of Boxster ownership? I think it's irresponsible to recommend one to him just as it would be irresponsible to suggest a used Ferrari to somebody trying to buy a flash £20k car, despite the fact that, in theory, they are available for that..

Only if properly serviced and I'd very much doubt Porsche servicing is cheap :(

Specialist garage tbh, most will be ex porka main dealer ppl, or just guys with a very good understanding of the car (The trick is picking a good specialist ;) )
