1200 Beats Per Minute - Drumming.

point taken.

i totally realize it's not hardest thing drumming wise, but in the grand scheme of things, as you point out (taking years to learn the skills to even attempt it), it's not easy. which was all i was taking issue with.

on side not i have just found this fool

fast feet, but i get a felling he's missing a few drums :\

In essence, all he's doing is playing a single stroke roll, the very first rudiment most people learn, broken up between different voices.
All it takes to play fast is a bit of time, playing the basic RLRLRLRL pattern over and over again.

If you want it to sound good, then you've actually got to put in some effort, listening to how each stroke sounds in relation to the last one, ensuring each stroke has the same volume (not applicable if you use triggers :/), ensuring each note is the same length (which leads to flamming the notes if you don't do it perperly, like joey) and ensuring that you're not speeding up (like joey does)

It's a shame most people outside of the drumming community don't realise how much work some of the greats put in.

I've got an MP3 of that. It is indeed very cool :)

Personally I prefer solos like the above one to the generic noise you usually get with metal. So what he is playing really, really fast - shame it sounds like crap...

*Goes to listen to the Phil Collins Drum Duet followed by Moby Dick by Zeppelin, drummed ofcourse by John Bonham :)

I've always enjoyed the drums in Napalm Death's Breed To Breathe.

The video's a bit naughty, so I'll leave finding it on YouTube up to you lot.

When the drums start properly, I can't help but think "YouCan'tFitQuickerThanAKwikFitFitter" over their rhythm...
