Unless your buying used and cheap there is no reason to buy 12th gen…

Get a 7600 and a B650 board. This will work out cheaper and give you more future options


Your looking at a £270 z790 board so go with a run of the mill cpu.

So your looking at £440 plus the cost of ram…
Buy a 7800x3d and a £100 B650 board for the same cost.

Motherboard and RAM can be had for under £160, even cheaper if not requiring onboard WIFI. :)

Yer I’m not saying it can’t be done, just Tommy was talking about ddr5 and pice5.0

The board he said he was looking at is £270
Plus £100 for 32gb of 6000mhz ram
And £170 for the cpu
he wants to upgrade to 14th gen down the line

All I’m saying is spending that much for a 12700 based system is madness when he could have a 7800x3d system from you for the same money, or even a 5700x3d for less
